Falcons came from behind to win 42-30 in a thriller. The match was a cracker!! Stallions lead 24-10 at the break, before two Falcon tries to make it 24-22. It was 36-30 to the Falcons with 3 mins to go when the Stallions had a full set of six 10 meters out.
Good crowd of over 150 ($5 entry each) turned up, and was no aggresive fans at all.
It was the best standard of Bartercard Cup match i have seen in a long long time. Hardly any dropped ball and some brillant team tries.
Names to make note of:
Russel Packer (falcons) only 16 or 17 years old plays in the front row.
Haisley Robson (facons) Half back from otago, looks a player of the future.
Falcons have theyoungest team in the comp and these kids can play.
Stallions had no Hohaia even though it was in the papers that he would play. Karena had a ripper of a match though, he has good some talen and is a very good kicker.
If these two teams play like this the whole seasont hen i have no doubt they will be finals bound.
Overall i would have given the match an 8/10 - pitty it was not the monday night match.
