You know its the best and fairest right?
Some deluded f**ks in this forum.

No it's not. Suspended players can were still eligible for the position awards. It's based on points voting system, of which this year for the first time they introduced negative scoring.

"In accordance with the rules of the Dally M award, Slater lost three points from his total for the suspension, leaving him three behind Orford heading into the final match of the regular season on Sunday evening."
Thats from 2008.
This is from 2014.

"The fair-play spirit of the Rothmans does live on in the media-voted Dally M though, with three “points” lost for each week missed through suspension.
Now 2015.

"Also worth noting is that players who are suspended during the season will lose three votes for each week of suspension they occur. Players who are suspended can still win, but it is a pretty tough handicap to overcome."

Its had many inclinations, Loss of points after the Second suspension. Immediate loss of eligibility after the first suspension.

I repeat, one way or another, Suspensions have ALWAYS been apart of Dally M's.

I thought they brought in the 3 point deduction per week suspended in 2002 or something. Used to be any suspension and you were automatically disqualified.

I don't believe it applied to the positional awards.

The award is certainly not a best and fairest in that traditionally you would be ineligible if you got suspended.

Whinge aside, not even Sharks fans think Gal had a better season then Jason T

Once again i remind you, the Dally m awards are for the Best and Fairest.
JT got suspended. The MOMENT he did that shoulder charge, its was fairly unlikely he was going to win awards at THIS event.. Doesnt matter if i think as a sharks fan JT had a better season than Gal. This is what the Dally Ms are.

Considering Jason T only lost out by 2 points to Gal I would say it's not a best and fairest at all.

It's a "Who polls the highest" award.

I couldn't GAF about the Dally M

but considering 99% of people would have no idea about the "fairest" bollocks then Gallen getting the nod is just a ridiculous look

Take social media with a grain of salt but there are 100s of "wtf" posts about it on FB

Arbitrary decisions by the MRC decides who we celebrate as the proclaimed "best" players in the game apparently

I completely missed it but how are the positional awards determined?? I ask this in respect of Woods winning (plod) prop of the year.
