Jai Field contender for halfback spot

Listened to the pregame chat from the supercoach, can only see Field getting opportunity when the game is done no matter who wins.

No chance he brings him on when the match is tight, waste of time having him on the bench especially when it's likely to be a quagmire.

Hope he does get a decent crack at it though, will be a nice change from seeing the boring footy offered up for the last five years
Yet Tigers blood 18 year old with a couple NSW cup games under his belt, they had seen enough of him to fast track him. According to Gus Gould last night on CH9.

Jai is going to come on in the last 15 minutes when the game is gone knowing McGregor.
He'll move McCrone to hooker to give Mcinnes a rest and Jai will play on the right side and won't see any ball like they did with him in the Charity Shield.
It is such a f**king terrible call by the coach, such a waste of a bench spot that could have been a quality reserve in Havili, Masoe, Mann or Leilua.

Wing is a specialist position now. I wouldn't risk him out there
Field has speed to burn and is very elusive. He is great under the high ball and should be one of our best at returning the ball and taking a quick hit up from deep in our territory. I'm confident he would be quick enough to catch opposition backs who break through our backline.

Field needs grooming for first grade. Why would we grooming for the halfback spot when we have Hunt coming to the Club next year? Blood him in a spot where he has a chance to continue on in 2018.

If Widdop is moving on, then give Field and Mann a shot at five-eighth.

If Dugan is moving on, then ensure that Dufty gets plenty of time at fullback.
If Dugan is staying on and moving to right centre, then play Milne at left centre.

Yes , 5/8 , or perhaps fullback , but most certainly not on the wing , as the poor bloke would be flattened by some of the NRL 's big wingers , namely Manlys Jorge Taufua and the Eels Semi Radradra , among others .

There's no protection out there for a small framed player such as Field , he needs to be in closer to the middle where at least he will have help in defence and also being shielded from some of those rampaging behemoths going around nowadays .

I would like to see him given a go on the wing and if what you say is true, then by all means try him in the halves. I have a sneaky feeling he would kill it on the wing. Those big wingers would not have a chance to nail him if he is given room to move. I saw him nailed in the CS and he seemed to go alright against Penrith.

I have the feeling he can look after himself - like Slippery Morris did.
