Well that would make sense given his age.

So realistically we only really have 27 in the squad for 2018.
Would also make sense given they’re the six youngest merkins to appear in the training galleries.

But for $60k these guys must be full time professionals now. How do they differ from the rest of the NRL squad? Are they eligible to play NRL?

From what I've read these development players aren't eligible to play NRL, but again that isn't from anything official from the NRL and only what has been reported. I guess if you decide they're ready to play NRL, you can upgrade them to your Top 30, but then you'd have to remove another player from your Top 30 (From what has been reported anyway).

I also think that $60k is just a minimum wage. I guess there is nothing stopping a club stock piling the best 6 players they can find who aren't ready for NRL and paying them a shit load more as from what I have read (again reported, not from the NRL) is that these players are outside of the main salary cap.

- The salary cap has been set at $9.4 million, a $9.1 million base figure with a $100,000 car allowance and a $200,000 veteran/development player option.

- The $200,000 veteran/development player sum can be spent on either a veteran who has spent eight or more seasons at the club or a development player contracted to his current club for two or more continuous years before they are handed their first NRL contract. The development player is only eligible for the payout up to the age of 22.

- Every club is allowed three to six development players outside the top 30 NRL squad with a price of $60,000 per player.

So where did this info come from?

We only have 28 according to Arthur. Fix it.
