The Devil Looks After His Own

No-one should be fooled. The reason for Noad's secondment is to protect the extended family of News Limited and to protect his master's investment.

Just like Peter McCort was sent by News to Sharks International. Why Biscuits Frank Stanton is sent to the Storm with mop and spew bucket in hand.

If Noad was serious about changing the Bulldog's culture then it doesnt show in this backflip with pike.

Learn the lessons from St Kilda and the AFL.

When it comes to poor behavior, you may own 70% of the media in this country, but lies run sprints, and the truth runs marathons.

Long Live Roy Masters, Long Live Marion Wilkinson, Long Live J Magnay and the girls who broke the Oasis story.

Death to News Limited and all its running dogs....Noad the Soft Jode has started his shift making all the wrong noises.

from todays SMH.com.au

New Bulldogs chief executive Malcolm Noad today initiated talks with NSW police Deputy Commissioner David Madden following allegation that a Canterbury player used recreational drugs, as investigations continue into pack rape claims.

Noad said the police would not reveal the player's identity but had referred the matter to the local area command for investigation.

"I was informed by Deputy Commissioner Madden that there was no indication that any player was dealing in drugs and that the alleged drug referred to in last night's media reports was a recreational one," Noad said.

But Noad agreed that a police investigation of a Bulldog's player was a concern.

Why is it that threads with 'Evil' or 'Devil' in the Title always involve Rupert  .

But you are right; Noad, McCort and Stanton are nothing But News Limited Storm Troopers. But Compared to the Other two, Noad is pretty fricken high up the pecking order.

Shouldn't we be more happy about the fact that the Bulldogs are going to be cleaned up? Therefore helping clean up the image of Rugby League?

Super League is old and gone, build a bridge and get over it.

Isn't it funny that the people who say that are always supporters of clubs that still exist?? Ask a Norths fan...

The Ramifications from Super League will be felt for years to come.

Cheers,
Ben S.

Your club still exists. What are YOU complaining about?

If Norths fans want to come on here and bitch and moan about SL then more power to them. Why is it that those who stuck to the ARL and who's teams do still exist complain as well?

I'm a Magpies supporter but there's no way they would still exist in 2004 unless they merged. Same with the Steelers.

Gibbo is probably the highest profile Bears supporter in Sydney and somehow he still manages to get on with life and enjoy the NRL. No doubt he goes up to NSO and watches the Bears run around in PL and enjoys it, the same way I enjoy supporting the Jets in PL.

So where's he been working lately, who is paying his bills, what role did he have at his last two clubs. More research, less eye rolling.

Are you saying that as soon as someone decides to take up employment with News ltd, despite their past, they're instantly evil?

LOL. Im tempted to say yes, but its not so much what they've done but what they do. And its not just working for News, coz I know plenty who do.

I think t-ba hit the nail on the head when he/she called Stanton a Storm Trooper. He's a specialist trouble shooter who went to the Storm to clean things up. Thats how the Devil Looks after his own. I also noticed that Noad has failed again and done a second backflip. he's as bad as the others who promised reform and gave us a whole lot of empty promises. All Noad ahs done is silence Chippy (AKA his Masters voice)

from smh.com.au 6.4.4

New Bulldogs CEO Malcolm Noad invited the media to witness his first speech to his players yesterday, but not everyone made the press welcome, writes Jessica Halloran.

Maybe it was harmless fun, a touch of mischief. But it seemed so aggressive. As new chief executive Malcolm Noad strode to the centre of the Belmore ground, where he would talk to the players about group responsibility and his resolve to clean up the club's image, winger Matthew Utai booted a football through the thick of the media pack. It slammed with a bang into the fence. Welcome to Belmore.

Utai, seemingly delighted, then ran to the huddle with the rest of the players, who had meandered over to listen to Noad. He was clearly satisfied. Whether the source of his satisfaction had been an act of naughtiness or just plain nastiness is debatable. Whatever, it wasn't a good look in the presence of his new boss.

Particularly as Noad was later to say of the meeting: "What I did talk to the players about was the 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week responsibility that we have to do the right thing.

"I put everyone on notice that we are under scrutiny like no other team ever before and they have to respond accordingly. And I feel they will give me that commitment."

Noad's back was turned when Utai kicked the ball. Noad said later: "It's an example of the pressure and the frustration the players are experiencing. However, it cannot be tolerated."

You might want to point out where the backflip is, because I'm not seeing it.

He didn't see Utai's ball-kicking episode, and only commented on it later on when he was told about it. He said it can't be tolerated.

backflip 1: he brushed aside drug use which the police and not the club discovered. "Noad said the offence was of a low-level nature and did not involve dealing."

backflip 2: Utai wasn't disciplined.

Just another day at the office.

Ibeme as a loyal fan you deserve better than this smoke and mirrors stuff.

Sack the Dogs Board. Cut the players who bring the club into disrepute. Dog fans its time to reclaim your club.

Compared to the allegations of drug trafficking being circlulated in the papers the day before, it is of a low-level nature. It's also reported in the papers that the police haven't revealed the player's name. They will be dealing with it in the coming weeks. Perhaps Noad might take action when he knows who the player is.

Rex said:

It happened yesterday. Noad didn't find out until later on. How do we know he's not looking into disciplinary action? He's been in the job all of five minutes.

I just think it's too early to be accusing him of backflips.

i did a quick edit of my post.

If you are comfortable all incidents will be dealt with then, fine. But the media will keep up the attack if there is no contrition shown. And rightly so.

I beg to differ on your assertion that he brushed aside drug use.

From "Noad Orders Open Era", The Australian 6/4/04

After reports that a player at the club might be dealing in drugs, Noad ignored his starting date of next Tuesday and rushed for a briefing with NSW Deputy Commissioner Dave Madden.

Madden confirmed police were investigating the possible use of recreational drugs by one player but dismissed the reports about dealing.

He said it would take about three weeks to sort out, described it as at the minor end of the scale but Noad saw it otherwise.

"I don't think there is any such thing as a minor offence and this is incredibly disappointing for the club," he said later. "My view is very well known that this club won't tolerate drugs."

You ARE kidding arn't you?

Backflip 1: Please read the whole article before commenting.. The police said it was of a low level nature... Noad said something to the effect that it does not matter what level.. none will be tolerated...

Backflip 2: It does not actually say wether he was disciplined or not.. you are jumping to conclusions...

Do us all a favour and keep your crap 'made up' stories to yourself.. There is enpugh pooo being flung around without 10 year old Super League crap being flung too.

I can't see where you are going Rex.

Noads conduct has been exemplary. He hasn't even been told the players name that was involved in the drug phone call - how can he tell the media? He didn't see the Utai kick but condemned it when told. He is starting a week early and gathered the players and read them the riot act - where is the problem?

I think you are grasping at straws here.
