surely this has to come down to a player making a choice. I can't see how the NRL would be able to tell a player that he has to play in an exhibition match in Mudjee over a sanctioned international game. And know way a coach could be so hypocritical to say we will release you to play for city/country but not for your national team. Even from a true selfish perspective the players get more recovery time playing in the internationals in Sydney on Saturday rather than the trip to the bush on Sunday.
