Saints have the best halves combo at the moment since they had the Mundine/Barrett combo. Great kicking games, they run to the line, great vision etc. Imagine if these guys were there during the Bennett era with the forwards they had then playing in front of them.

What has happened to Kyle Stanley? Is he injured? He will be great back up if one gets injured. If he can get his injuries sorted then he can step in when Benji retires. Mary will know how to use him properly not like the previous dude. Kyle is a half not a centre, fullback, hooker or whatever position he played in the last few years.

Benji is an artist of rugby league.

A person bursting with artistic talent - as Benji is - can express himself vividly and beautifully in multiple forms and mediums. Picasso, for example, is one of the greatest painters of modern history, perhaps ever. But he was also brilliant at sculpting, sketching and ceramics.

In his younger days Benji would weave his masterpieces with speed, evasion and outrageous showmanship. Now, in his later years the speed and evasion aren't as potent as they once were, yet he is still expressing himself artistically: with sleight of hand, vision and creativity. He may yet have another masterpiece a la 2005 up his sleeve only this time the colour palette will comprise red and white...

Obviously I love stats and check them against my perception for consistency. While there not the be all and end all if anyone doesn't consider them it just makes them opinionated.

Slip, it's time to move on from Stanley. Much more knowledgable Dragons fans than me (wouldn't take much TBH) claim we have better youngsters coming through in the halves, in the next few years. I know Stanley has had a rotten run of luck but keeping him just ties up cap space. Maybe he will come good eventually but he'll want a couple of hundred thousand a year to do so. Sorry mate, I don't see the value in keeping him any longer but I hope I am wrong.

Regrettable but true.
This kid has had terrible luck with injury, and then when he is fit aka now, the team is performing well.
Victim of circumstance ... maybe.
I think like many in his predicament, a new club, new environment and a bit of luck, he can kick on. Just can't see him slipping into the squad atm. Shame, cause I do like him.

Hip Hip Horray!! Finally a thread without daggers galore and plenty of bouquets!

Totally agree with all that has been said-I was quietly excited when we signed benji, was a bit perplexed at first, but since the second coming of St Mary, I get excited everytime he gets the ball, and yes, there are a few gaffs, but hey, at least he is having a go!

Go St Benjamin-DRAG us ON to the semis!!

Benji was always one of my favourite non-dragons players, but I was not initially impressed with the signing, for the same reasons as many others.

He seems to be coming along well now and Gareth is looking better for having him there, so I couldn't be much happier at this point. His game has changed, but there is no doubt he's still got it and there a few better guys for some of these kids to learn from.

Now we just need to get Ben Matulino, bring back St Benny and the future is very bright!

Glad to see Widdop And Benji starting to figure out each others games. Give them time and I think they will become one seriously formidable halves combo. Gaz on one side with his rock solid direction and Benji on the other doing things he doesn't even know about yet. It might not happen overnight, but it will happen.

I seen Benji a year ago in a kebab shop in port Mac he asked if I wanted an autograph I laughed and said mate I follow the dragons. He must have signed just so I would except his autograph

Mary has cleverly defined a role for Benji and he is growing into it. Finally we have a kicker who gets us repeat sets through drop outs. A half who organizes and gets players running off him, even giving them directions on where to run. Plus he is putting in with defense!

Being in his later years I am hoping he can pass on some skills training to our upcoming halves so when he steps down we have a gun step up to replace him and join Widdup.

We got Widdop, then The Duges then the superstar Benji Marshall, then........then....we sack Price.
Cloud F***ing Nine gentlemen.

What next....Doust miraculously pulls a big bopper forward out of his arse and we make the finals......
Bennett
