Ando has got two teams to NRL Grand Finals and won a shit load of trophies with St Helens, yet apparently has NFI.

With St Helens he won the double crown in 2006 and was awarded ESL coach of the year. Then again in 2007.

In 2007 he won the WCC. Then won the Challenge Cup in 2007 as well.

In 2007 St Helens got to the GF but lost.

HmmOK.

And he was a rugby league analyst on ABC radio. And he was referee's boss. And now he has his current job with Parramatta. But, hey, I guess he's in the same boat as S. Kearney.

In my opinion, Brian Smith OVER ACHIEVED with teams he coached. Some of his beaten Grand Final teams did not have the necessary talent to be legitimate premiership contenders.

That's only because his ego wouldn't allow him to get on with the legitimate stars in the teams (John Simon, Clinton Schifkofski, Jamie Lyon, etc) so he punted them. If he wasn't so abysmally single-minded, he might have won a premiership or two.

Kearney has had success coaching at international level. It's not the NRL but it's something.

What's his record like without Bennett as assistant (aka puppet master)?

What is Bellamys record like without SK as the puppet master?
Oh wait, they had 25% more player value in that period, nevermind.

What about Griffin?
Before SK got there, he was 30 wins 18 losses. Bring on the puppet master, and he was 22 wins from 50 games....

Cost the poor bloke his career.

When Anderson coaches 604 games, then we can debate it, until then to even suggest whose done more etc is not a discussion.

Fine. We can debate who has coached more games rather easily.

Just like we can rather easily debate who has brought home more silverware. Perhaps when Smith gets to 5 trophies we could debate it, until then, to even suggest who has done more etc is not a discussion.

I might be wrong, but I believe that Gronk was making his point along thr 2nd line, not the first. You are yet to provide evidence of the 'done more' on that front.....

Its totally different. In the world cup soccer there are coaches who go great managing a country but don't cut it in the leagues.

The reason being well- Its just a one off.

I reckon if Eto could get to the same size as Edrick Lee from the Raiders. They're about the same height and Edrick is still quick. Eto's height is his greatest advantage. If he can catch a ball and read a defensive play then I reckon he'll be a good 4th choice winger. And he could possibly move up in ranking as the year goes on.

SK problem was he walked into a terrible team.BA was lucky he came into a team half built so its hard to compare them.I unlike everyone else am not 100% convinced with BA as of yet. I think he has done ok.Those last two games worried me big time and I think he was out coached by Bennet twice and Ricky twice. We where lucky too beat canbera the first time but come the second time round both team seemed to have worked us out.Same as Penrith.
I like his team selections thou and his attitude and type of players and culture he seems to be building.Im just not sure he is tactically that good.Time will tell thou

I think we have been over this only 1,000 times

We made the GF on the back of Jarryd Hayne's individual performances.

I assume you didnt watch the Eels in 2009 to think that this all happened?

 keep thinking DA had nothing to do with 09

It's stupid to judge a coach in his first season at a club, at least on team results. Even the second season is tainted by a mostly inherited team. Early in his tenure at a club it's best to judge a coach on off field factors, which the fans generally aren't privy to.

And we went on to beat the Titans and the Bulldogs only to be beaten by a bunch of cheats operating around $1.5 mill over the cap LOLLLL.
Sure, it was all Hayne's doing.....

The victory over the dogs was a coaching masterclass as well.
Oh hang on, it was Hayne who won it for us.

The way we ran over the Dogs in the second half was coaching at its best too. Long passing game playing the ball from one side to the other - we gradually withdrew from playing tight to unfold a deep expansive shape playing fast-tempo with many 40/50 degree decoys set either side of the ruck with up to four other decoys spread out at 5/10 degrees from the ruck designed to pull the doggies defense in and out at the same time. Doggies trusted sliding defense was being compromised. A few times per set and at speed without hardly any hesitation, the Eels were now passing the ball much wider and deeper to open up the dogs second-guessing defensive line leading to speedy or blasting Eels hole runners getting through manufactured cracks. And the dogs were renowned for their defense across the park. Eventually, the dogs could not keep up with this zip zip maneuvering and second phase tempo and ran out of fuel. :D
