It's just hard to project him in any other offense than the Ducks/Eagles offense.
It's a big risk. I think we've already seen the foundations of his claim as 1st overall begin to be chipped away at by media scouts.

The Broncos don't need Cobb Mac. ;-)

Watch the Raiders draft Winston. The spirit of Al Davis lives on...

Just lose baby!
he has JaMarcus Russell written all over him....

But don't be too smug... I seem to remember your mob drafting a certain QB in the first round of the 2010 draft.

The thing is too the draft is littered these days with dual way threat QBs that you can develop for spread/RO offenses. I mean a guy like Rakeem Cato from Marshall would be late round flier worth looking at.

Trying to find QBs from pro style offenses with experience throwing from the pocket and with anticipation is hard to find these days

Cato is definitely worth a shot, I don't know what it is but I just think he'd kill it in the pros. What is everyone's take on Melvin Gordon anyways?

I see Gordon going to the Jets, let Geno suck for another year, Draft Hackenburg, give me some pieces, and they will be fine.

I like him... He has size... And he's explosive...

He was massively productive in college... But with the dwindling value of running backs these days you have to ask the question whether anyone will use a 1st rounder... Especially an early 1st on a RB...

That was my thoughts on Gordon all the way. But what I don't get is that every mock draft I see they have him at late 1st rd or early 2nd.

Its just the way the position is valued now. RB's are run into the ground and discarded, the league has figured out how easy they can find productive back in every draft and often late, they know they drop off quickly and they know they are unreliable health wise.

I think after these Peterson/Charles/McCoy deals expire, RB's will look at those numbers in years to come and dream

I love Gordon and the Jamaal Charles comparison is perfect for him. He'll be a top 20 pick when its all said and done

As Nick pointed out, RB's have little value in the first round and a lot of teams go RB by committee these days so the days of a stud RB who plays almost every down are long gone.

In short, they are expendable.

I think Gordon is good enough to buck the trend, and Todd Gurley would have too if not for his injury... but it also wont shock me to see another year of no first round RBs

I agree that RBs have reduced value these days, but I agree with Nick, Gordon is an elite prospect

The Steelers have a glaring need at CB but I think they'll go OLB in the first, maybe a tackle if one falls. If there's a clear top CB on the board then they might go for it but I don't see it with this regime.

I'm not sure what the Broncos will do. OL probably and then ILB. Most other positions the Broncos seem pretty solid at. Maybe a prospect TE if Julius Thomas and Tamme leave, which I fully expect.

Im seeing Waynes mocked to Philly a lot, and i'd be really happy with that. I think he's the best DB in the draft, got good size and length, fluid athlete and the drop off after him is significant

The issue with Waynes is his tackling, he's not a very physical guy so a Cover 2 team wouldn't like him much, but as a pure cover guy I like him a lot
