The great Roberto Aguayo is staying at FSU. I was interested to see how high he would've went.

The issue with Waynes is his tackling, he's not a very physical guy so a Cover 2 team wouldn't like him much, but as a pure cover guy I like him a lot

Yeah, i always think its easier to teach a guy to tackle and put his body on the line, than is to teach him how to cover

but we put guys in coverage. He'd be a good fit for us i think.

From the twitterverse: Report: Texas A&M OL Cedric Ogbuehi needs surgery for torn ACL.

There goes one of my favourite prospects! I like Ogbuehi, who gets into his pass-protect stance faster than anyone I've seen since Joe Thomas, but a torn ACL is going to knock him down a round or two.

For your small school consideration, may I introduce to you Kyle Emanual, 6-3, 251 defensive end from FCS Champion NDSU. He won the Buch Buchanon award as the nation's best small college defender. He had 16.5 sacks this season. I think he could go as late as the 5th round, although I don't know that, and I think he will have to make the transition to OLB in the NFL.

He is playing for the West in the East-West Shrine game this weekend, keen to see how he goes

FWIW ESPN Insider talked to front office people and Jones was pretty solidly projected as a day 3 pick right now.

Given that information it makes sense for him to stay

I think even as a 3rd rounder, he should have come out.
Im pretty sure JT Barrett is starting there next year, and if that's the case, is Jones's stock going to rise riding the pine for a year and coming in for a handful of plays each game? I cant see it.

Take the 3rd round, maybe a solid combine, really good interviews, you can rise up to a 2nd or maybe even late first given the wave you're riding right now. In 12 months time he might be a forgotten man to some degree and looking down the barrel of a late round pick

3rd rounder? They're talking Day 3 dude, he would've been lucky to crack the 5th round

Todd McShay was saying he was a 3rd rounder the other day, so i was basing it on that. If he came out now, no way he'd be available on day 3 imo.

But as i said, regardless of what his stock is right now, be it first, 3rd or UDFA... i think his stock is as high right now as it's ever going to be unless he beats out JT Barrett for the starting gig, which i dont see happening.

This isn't 2015 but I found it interesting...

Sports Illistrated did a re-draft of the 2014 NFL draft.

http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/01/20/2014-nfl-draft-redo-derek-carr-odell-beckham-jr-jadeveon-clowney

that made me very happy. 4 panthers re drafted in the first round? what a killing. Boston was good but not first round worthy though. Trai Turner, Philly Brown and Andrew Norwell would all be repicked in the 2-3 rounds too. Gettleman absolutely aced this draft.

also does anyone know how comp picks work? most people appear to be guessing. apparently Panthers might get a 5th and 2x 7th.

Broaddus: Defensive Ends, Big Ten RBs Take Center Stage On Day 1 Of Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. – The two Senior Bowl teams have weighed in, and the first practice of the week starts shortly. Here’s what I’ll be watching as we open our Senior Bowl coverage here at Lad-Peebles Stadium.

  • It appears that Senior Bowl Director Phil Savage and his staff did a nice job of dividing the defensive line so that both sides will have an equal chance in the game. Danny Shelton, the defensive tackle from Washington, is the one player that scouts were talking about at the weigh in this morning. Shelton will be paired with Kentucky’s Za’Darius Smith and Utah’s Nate Orchard. On the South squad, Owamagbe Odighizuwa of UCLA and Markus Golden of Missouri will join Arkansas’ Trey Flowers and Mississippi State’s Preston Smith. Orchard might have the best numbers of the group sack-wise, but Odighizuwa and Golden show the ability to capture that edge when you watch them on tape.

  • The Cowboys could be in the market for an offensive tackle in this draft if both Doug Free and Jermey Parnell depart in free agency. I am already hearing that I need to keep an eye on T.J. Clemmings of Pittsburgh. Clemmings will get plenty of opportunities to work against some quality edge rushers. If you remember this time last season, it was Zack Martin handling of Aaron Donald during Senior Bowl week that opened more than a few eyes, helping his draft stock.

  • I haven’t had the opportunity to study these running backs so this is my first exposure of them. On the North squad, I am looking forward to seeing Ameer Abdullah of Nebraska and his explosiveness. Abdullah measured in at 5-8, 198 pounds, which might be a little short -- but physically he looks rock solid. Scouts wanted me to also take a look at David Cobb of Minnesota. Cobb might not have the home run of ability of Abdullah, but at 5-11, 229, his measureables appear good. How these guys are able to pass protect will be huge to these scouts, who are looking for those complete backs that never come off the field.
  • This will be a huge week for Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty. With these squads working with NFL coaches, it will be interesting to see how many times he has to play from underneath center. In college, the majority of his snaps were played in the shotgun, so how he takes a snap, reads on the move and delivers the ball will be a major step in how these NFL teams view him. There are plenty of scouts that believe that Petty is a system quarterback and will struggle in a pro-style offense. I happen to believe that he can be an outstanding NFL quarterback, so I will be studying his every move in these practices.

This is from the Cowboys website so obviously it has a Dallas tinge to the article. But it gives you some early news from the Senior Bowl.

Yeah the Panthers did real well....

Reggie hit the jackpot... Carr goes #1 and Mack stays at 5.

Compensatory Picks:

These picks are determined at the league's annual meeting before the draft and are given to teams that in the previous year's free agency period have lost more or better free agent players than they gained.
This highly confidential formula, created by the NFL Management Council, is based on players' salaries, playing time, post-season awards, and the net amount of free agents lost versus free agents signed.
The maximum amount of picks any team can gain is 4 and they cannot be traded.

So yes, people are guessing. Really comes down to how they do with there free agents, do they resign them? Did they play a lot etc.
