I loved the first 2 games of the series. I never played Doom 3 or Final Doom. I don't think this one is something I'll get into but who knows.

Doom 3 was a letdown so not expecting huge from this.
But then again I wasn't expecting Diablo 3 RoS, Shadow of Mordooooor or Wolfenstein to be decent and they were the three best games last year.
I think I redeemed a beta code from my Wolfenstein game for this so I will check that out.

Get Dooms 1,2 and Final Doom via gog games...dirt cheap,tons of levels.

That trailer will have no resemblance to the finished product...they never do.What I mean by that is typically those maps you see aren't part of the game.When they make trailers,the rendering and specs are tarted up to give the showpiece a more sensationalist pre-view.

This game will be atmospherically tight and tense as Doom 3.There'll be no power-up stations as you have to get your health as you are dusting off enemies.

Great thing that will be included is the modding software that makes it dead easy for you to make your own custom maps,and you'll be able to d/l countless maps from others from sites like modb.com and steam.

Anyway,2 months to go.

Sick of Battlefield,etc...bring on something that will scare the crap out of you.

Sweet. Will probably pick it up today myself. Does look a lot of fun now I have to admit, even if it doesn't look at all scary anymore like say Doom 3 was.

The vibe is more like the original Dooms rather than 3. Not scary but the combat is hectic. Best FPS I've played in a long while.

In the beta multi-player pre-release,35% only favoured the game on Steam.

I've played it,and it is fooking immersive.Haven't sweated during a computer game for a while.

And remember to use the TAB button and upgrade your weapons and abilities.

Also after you have cleared the area of evil spirits,discover the entire area for secrets and other stuff..*look everywhere* I.E. up,down,wherever....and happy gaming.

The chainsaw is brutal. There's never enough fuel for it, otherwise I'd use it all the time. The bezerk power up is fun too.

Got this the other day for the PS4. I don't really play many games any more tbh, but nostalgia trips like this are hard to pass up, and this is one heck of a ride. Absolutely loving it so far - very very different to Doom 3, which was genuinely scary, but this is a lot closer to the feel of the originals and is frankly a shit tonne of fun.

I love how it opens too - that voice over explaining that you're not really even human, but some awful creation meant to be worse than the hordes of hell. It's just hilarious and epic :lol:
