I've seen Edwards throw some f**king sweet passes at the line. Plus he'll attract more defenders than Paulo due to his running threat and of course he's a mad merkin in defence and up at Surfers.

Forty has said to me that he has a very nice long pass before the line. But surely we won't be going with two locks in the 13 at once hey Pou?

Actually this year i would not be surprised is watmough played 80min through the middle and Edwards came off the bench to replace a prop and have us play essentially two locks (watmough play like parker did this year). This would hopefully tighen up our defence through the middle and make our forwards less predicable

Edwards reminds me of Dean widders

Seph will get more game time if our halves don't work out well

We'll be more Melbourne like now that the Golden one is gone

If Norman gets injured or isn't playing well at the beginning of the year then Seffa may overtake him but there's no way that he'll be replacing Sandow. Sandow is our dominant kicker and no one in our club has the long kicking game that he does.

It's a massive reason why I think we need to play Ryan Matterson as the dominant half in Wenty. If he can get a decent long kicking game happening then he'll be a cert for first grade in the future. At the moment he'll be good in first grade because of his size and ability to play in the halves but for him to be GOAT then he needs that kicking game.

So with Edwards gone for most the year, it most likely opens up a spot in our top 17. So who will be his replacement? Maybe Paulo ?

Hope not!

8. Mannah
9 Peats
10 Paulo
11 Tepai

14 IDG
15 Pauli
16 Gower
17 Wicks .... Can't think of another front rower ....

Gower and Watmough both play in the middle. Ma'u and Moeroa (and Pauli) play on the edges. Edwards is a loss but he's not irreplaceable.

I was thinking he was definitely in our top 17 most likely on our bench, I reckon his importance was that he could play in the middle or edge - which gives Arthur options depending on how the game is going. He had the ability to bring a pretty strong running game and seemed to potentially have a passing game to play the middle position like Paulo did.

Has any team in the NRL used this middle half position over the course of the season and gone close to winning the comp? Why do we use it? It doesn't seem to work and over complicates things. With Watmough playing solid minutes in the middle surely we won't completely change our structure to accommodate Seph Paulo's amazing ball skills.

I agree, I don't think Seph should really play unless we have no other options. He has not role in the team with Watmough coming IMO. Kenny is a pretty big loss because he had a fair amount of spark but he is replaceable.

I would have had the following forward pack fully fit

Mannah, Peats, Paulo, Man'u (Left edge), Tepai(right edge), Watmough. Edwards (Middle/Edge), Gower(Middle/Edge), Lussick(prop), Wicks/Pauli/Utility(depends on who we play if we want big boppa or play a wider)

Now with Edwards out for 6 months at least someone like Pauli time step up and gives chances to a couple of other forwards. Hopefully Tepai, Man'u and Watmough dont have any injuries!!!

James Graham is pretty close to what you could call a middle half, although he runs it a lot more than Sef. Seffa's biggest problem is his (lack of a) strong running game. If he could run the ball up like Kenwards/Jraham do but could also pass like they did he wouldn't be blasted after every game.

More chance of Alioia playing now. Does he play in the middle or on the edges?

Definitely more chance but he's still stuck behind a few players who have already played first grade and a bunch who have already played NSW cup. He started off last year in the middle and then after Pauli was promoted and Eric Newbigging was injured he played on the edge. He's just as capable in both channels of the field, he still hits hard and runs harder.

I predict Danny Wicks to be a surprise packet in 2015...I like his playing style....plus he is going to be hungry to succeed.....
