57 in and Panthers lead 26-8. BMM latest try scorer
We lead by 8 at halftime.
Also what do people think of Cameron Ciraldo coaching under 20's? Have we given up on that level or what? Can't imagine thats he's the best man to develop players.
Besides seeing him play, what do you know about Ciraldo? Some of the best coaches were average players, some of the best players are average coaches.
Trent Barrett was coach last year, he was average at best. This year we have Cameron Ciraldo and I can't help but feel our NYc team is suffering through lack of decent coaching, and as a result the development of these guys is going to suffer.
Our focus is supposed to be on development and we're just using former players who are unproven in coaching. We could luck out and find a gem, but it feels like a huge risk to take considering our supposed focus on development. We should be throwing money at proven coaches if we're serious about development. Not necessarily first grade proven, but there's plenty of decent options who would be happy to coach our junior sides. What better way to get recognised for higher honours?
played all his juniors in the halves they switched him at u20 level to fullbackAnyone know if Naden is goneski?
So Manu named at prop, BMM at lock.
Interesting Geyer playing 6, can't remember him play any halves in NYC.
Well if Cameron tells them to man up and ran harder do they laugh in his face?
That's based on me expecting the best for our development and believing unproven coaches are not in our best interest. That is based on your dislike of him as a player or your analysis of the NYC games that you have seen with Cameron Ciraldo as coach?
Tom.
I wasn't judging him, I was asking what other people thought of an unproven coach being used when we were supposedly focusing on development. How about instead of judging Ciraldo on how you imagine he will perform, you judge him on his actual performance?
I just care that our juniors are in the best hands possible.

Unproven coaches are hardly an ideal way to develop players. He could be a gem, or he could be a waste of a years worth of development. We should be going with proven performers rather then risking a years development.
Seems too risky to.me. A years worth of player development at that age is a lot. I hope he proves to be a great coach, but im not confident our kids will reach their potential under him. I can't see him being better than Barrett.
Trent Barrett and then Cameron CIraldo... neither having coached before. You joke that they don't care, but risking these players futures on unproven coaches doesn't seem like the best move.I guess that makes you unique. After all the time and effort Gus and Ivan have put into our junior systems thus far, they obviously just couldn't be bothered looking for a decent coach for the NYC.
We won the competition in 2013 when we had a proper coach, we failed to make the top 8 in 2014 under Trent Barrett In 2015 we have gone to another unproven coach in Cameron Ciraldo. It's ok to be skeptical, but you stated the players are suffering. That is far from established fact.
What reason do we have to believe that Ciraldo will be an improvement over the epic failure that Trent Barrett was?
