Hodges is an outstanding fullback.

He hasn't played there as much as he would have because they've always been blessed with great fullbacks.

I don't think he'd come, plus he's played his best footy up there.

If we were going to get a one season player you'd try for Brett Stewart wouldn't you?

Well hodges is contracted till end of next year- But bennet has tapped him on shoulder and said be honest with yourself do you realy think you got it in you. They do not want to lose Kahu.
TBH he might work out for a year, it would only be a stop gap solution if we thought we where a genuine chance of winning a title in 2016.

If Justin Hodges is told he's not required I dare say he will retire from the game. It wouldn't shock me if he is told to retire and he will be employed by the club in some sort of role, probably on similar money to what he is for next year.

Hodges would have been a brilliant signing for fullback...10 years ago.
Now he's a broken down player who could only play in the centres. Even then he'll be lucky to play half the games in a given year.

Yes retirement would be good for him. Unless he wants to spend a year in super league and tour the sites of Europe.

Yes. But he'd want more than one year. So, give him two.

He was an outstanding fullback ten years ago (even then, if he was as outstanding as you say, he'd have dethroned previous ones).

Pass (though it's as likely to happen as Carney coming over).

Sorry at his best he is equal to Hayne, remember he was behind Lockyer and Mini and in that time he made himself the premier centre in the comp similar to Inglis before he went to souths.

I would take hodges in a heart beat

At his best, he was a gun - at centre.

The suggestion is to put him, hypothetically, at fullback - at his age.

Just on Inglis - he's not a fullback's arsehole. Look at his performance during the Test. He's a gun centre and handy fill-in 5/8, but he is not a great fullback.

I don't think we will sign him, and I don't want him now...but he was excellent in his short stint at fullback.
The Broncos won the 2006 Grand Final with him playing at the back. His games leading up to that GF were some of the best games he's ever played. He was making around 200m per game.

He was moved back to the centres because they had a great replacement in Hunt and he is a world-class centre.

Fair enough.

But that was 9 years ago, and 12 games isn't really a huge sample size.

Not really, but if I was looking for a fullback 9 years ago it would have been enough for me to be happy to sign him.
I mean, people were happy to sign Alex Johnston a couple of weeks ago to play fullback, and he's played less than half the games in that position than Hodges had.
