You don't like Melbourne, we get it. Why bother commenting?
if you want a bit of extra land, look around langwarrin to moorooduc..
or if you can afford it, head out to red hill / main ridge / merricks and you'll have a great place..
Previously lived in Dulwich Hill, Coogee, KL, Melbourne and now Canberra.
Hey BF, I lived in Sydney from birth until 1988.
From 1965 until 1985 I lived in Riverwood. For the last ten years of that time, Sydney became the arsehole of the world. After that, Chester Hill when I bought my first house in 1985.
Moved south for reasons nobody needs to know....but...Punchbowl, Wiley Park, Lakemba, Campsie, Belmore, Canterbury, Greenacre, et al, needed to be nuked.
Maybe Telopea Street, Punchbowl, will give you an idea of my feelings. Last words...f**k those Lebanese merkins. My first wife lived in Rossmore Avenue with her parents when I met her...get the idea? One street across.
Hated the weather in Victoria, it was the reason I gtfo of there
Until 88? Not that I defending that shithole Punchbowl, but you appear to be stuck in 1988! All that crime shit that happened there in Telopea street was taken down by the Middle eastern crime squad over a decade ago. I suppose being away from here you don't keep up with the news. All is forgiven.
You're making it sound like Melbourne didn't/doesn't have an underworld of its own.The first influx of lebanese happened around 1972 - when they started attending my high school.
For the next eight or ten years, they (the lebanese community in general) were a bit meek but soon grew some bravado, in numbers of course, and had a big hold on the illicit drug trade in southern Sydney suburbs which expanded rapidly.
That is history, not news.
You're making it sound like Melbourne didn't/doesn't have an underworld of its own.
Why are you so sensitive about Sydney?
BF is just posting his opinion , just like you are posting yours?
You can't honestly believe that blowing up will convince anyone of anything about Melbourne other then they have 1 particular resident who has deep seeded issues.
Because he's a precious princess.
He even got shown on his own when he said Melbourne outranks Sydney in most livable cities when it's not even in the top 10 this year  (Sydney is #10).
You produced a report from a different organisation to the one i provided and from what i could ascertain, an organisation that was not better than the one i provided. Thus it didn't warrant further discussion.
It doesn't discount though my argument that the two cities are near identical anyway.
It only serves to support it.
Idiot.
Show me where I mentioned Melbourne in that post of mine.
FMD.
I could type countless paragraphs about my experiences with Lebanese during my time in Sydney.
It wouldn't make nice bedtime reading for you, you'd have nightmares.
You stated that the organisation you used had Melbourne in the top 10 did you not? Was Sydney also in this top 10? Please post the link btw.
Making comparisons is a good way to familiarise yourself with the concept.
Except that OP is not asking for a comparison. He's asking what's good about Melbourne.
"I landed a job in Dresden, what's good about the place?"
BF: "Sydney's better"
:lol:The missus is having three job interviews today in Melbourne.
