TBH there are very few good commentators. I didn't mind Dan Ginane on Triple M when I lived in Sydney but I know alot of people have a problem with him, it's sort of like picking between 3 different types of herpes....

On the coverage in general. Who at nine thinks having Lewis, Tallis and Lockyer commentating on a broncos game provides anything but bias dribble ?

Besides Sterlo channel 9 commentary is a joke.

Sterlo is so far ahead of the rest it's not funny.

On last night's game I'll take Lockyer as commentator over Tallis or Lewis, at least taking the role seriously comes naturally to him.

I laughed when Lewis said something like "At least all queenslanders can be proud of these teams," how parochial can they get up north.

Pretty bad, but I've given up expecting good insight from Channel 9. Being good at footy doesn't equal being good at broadcasting. They should actually look for guys like Sterlo who happen to be pretty good broadcasters as well, even if they aren't all time great players.

e.g. Mat Elliot, far from the best coach but he does quite a good job on grandstand, good communicator, but can break down the plays reasonably well. I'm sure there are others around similarly good.

Triple m has some awesome commentators. As much as I dislike Jamie Soward he is actually fantastic to listen too when commentates games.
