with seffa now gone.

only 3 players are at the club now in mannah, morgan and kelly were here when steve kearney was still coaching 3 years ago in 2012.

Hopefully that losing wooden spoon era has finally left the club.

Folau
Radradra
Toutai
Pritchard
Moeroa
Pauli
Tanginoa
Ualesi
Paulo
Terepo

were all at the club in 2012.

Parramatta Eels ready to welcome back Hayne if he decides to return to Australia

A “naturally disappointed” Jarryd Hayne has no intention of quitting the NFL to make a rushed return to the NRL.
But if he does change his mind Parramatta believe they would be in the box seat to get him back.
And Eels chairman Steve Sharp said the club would be “turning over every stone” to make it happen if Hayne wanted to come home, including approaching the NRL for a helping hand.
As Hayne waits to see if he will be picked up by another NFL franchise or return to the San Francisco 49ers practice squad, his long-time Australian manager Wayne Beavis on Monday told The Daily Telegraph that Hayne was determined to overcome his latest setback.
“We haven’t made any decisions,” Beavis said. “None at all.”
Asked if that meant Hayne was staying in NFL, Beavis added: “We are not considering anything.
“It is business as usual. “He wants to play NFL.
“It is as simple as that.
“That has always been the challenge and he has done it and he just wants to continue on.
“Naturally (Hayne is) disappointed but he is okay.
“But at this stage he is on the waver list and we have to see how that plays out.
“This is just a road bump.
“They pick them out of the practice squad all the time.
“The bloke that has taken his position in the squad (Kendall Gaskins)
has come off the practice squad.
“It is a like a reserve grade side. They just bring them up when they want them.”
Parramatta’s chairman added he did not expect Hayne to return.
“I’m of the belief that Jarryd will stay where he is for at least
another year,” Sharp said.
“It is not in Jarryd’s nature given the hurdles he has jumped over and the hoops he has jumped through to get to where he is to walk away.
“I’d be disappointed and surprised if another team didn’t pick him up if he was released from the 49ers but I think he is determined to make a go of it.”
But if the chance did come up to get Hayne back in the NRL, Sharp said the Eels would do everything possible to make sure he was wearing blue and gold.
“Certainly we would make every provision we could to make it possible for Jarryd to come back to the Eels if he was available,” Sharp said.
“We have been in regular contact with Jarryd from the time he went over because he is a Parra boy through and through.
“We have done everything we can to make sure we have some freedom in our salary cap if he was available to come back.
“But in saying that we certainly don’t have $1 million for him. “So we’d be like every other club I’d imagine.
“We’d be looking to the NRL to have a look at their much talked about fund (for marquee players) like Jarryd.
“We would be turning over every stone that we possibly can to make things happen to try and make sure he came back to the Eels if it was
what he was looking at doing.
“I have no doubt the inclusion of someone like Jarryd in the current team we have put together for next year would certainly move us up the betting rankings.”
The Eels’ new recruits for 2016 include prized signing Kieran Foran along with enforcer Beau Scott, Michael Gordon and Clint Gutherson.

Sharpy to the rescue.:D:D

A ?naturally disappointed? Jarryd Hayne has no intention of quitting the NFL to make a rushed return to the NRL.

They could always get Spags to promise them 3rd party payments. Worked a treat for Sandow & Hoppa. :sarcasm:

I've a hypothetical question:

How in the blue hell would we be allowed to sign Hayne back, assuming, hypothetically, he chooses to come back?

I mean, we're in jeopardy of losing 4 competition points next year, and we have been screwing up our cap for years - no way would the NRL say, "Sure - here's $3 million. Go nuts!"

as long as he came back midway through a season it would put us in a much better position to keep him beyond that. there's no doubt some 3rd parties could be found for him. they would be needed to manipulate the first full season back to allow for player movements in years 2 and 3 etc.

Why ?as long as we don't go over there can't be any issues.

We would just need to find the Cap space to offer him something reasonable for 2016 ( say $500k) and back load the rest of his contract. Wouldn't be easy especially for 2016, but could be done.

The only way that the NRL could do it is to allow a marquee signing to each club outside your cap.

The Dave Smith fund would not be equitable.

From a business perspective, it would look bad to help out "cheats", even if it would help in the long run.

without offloading players, the only way I could see it happen is if they only let him be 200k under the cap with 800k in 3rd party. but cant see them doing that

Nice

Interestingly Sharpy mention Gutherson in the article posted by Avenger and I thought hang on, he hasn't been officially announced yet.

Not to be a smartass Twizzle, but i don't think that part is a quote by Sharp.
