Can't see these selectors dropping Marsh for the next game now. They've given him 6 chances to do something like this. Bad luck Usi

Bit of rain around now by the sounds of it. Not much point keeping them out there, unless they want Smarsh to try and slog to 200

445 run partnership at over 5 an over. This isn't two guns batting-it's a solid veteran and a mong on his 45th chance at test cricket. Poor old Windies.

Thank god that happened before they got to the Bradman/Ponsford record.

Id personally drop mitch marsh but he will probably score a century in 20 balls and take 10 wickets

Gillespie - still has a higher test score than S Marsh.

As it should be

kind of expected Australia to declare then.

Has Mitch been sent out to pull out the big levers?

Unless we've been told to drag this farce on for as long as possible I can't figure out why are we still batting?

Maybe after the Test in Adelaide, CA/Channel 9 has decided that this test needs to go for 5 days. So we will bat for 2 days, rack up 650 runs and then after toppling the Windies for 27, we don't enforce the follow on, and score another 600 runs before bowling the Windies out for 23

Aus wins on day 5 by 1200 runs.

We are learning absolutely nothing in this test and this series. The Windies are a mess. How many talented players do they have playing Big Bash instead of this? All because the ridiculous administration over there is incompetent, and that is just compounded by the way the rich countries carved up the money to exclude the small countries.

And now there's talk of Khawaja being left out because the likes of Voges and Marsh have done the equivalent of beating up a cripple.

Tests against teams like this could actually be a negative for us long term because undeserving players get undeserving runs, boosting their averages and giving them more time in the team they don't deserve.

Millions of dollars are lost for every missed day. The weather looks good after today. There is a real chance we'd knock them over twice before stumps if we declared early. I'd say they've been told to bat all of today to at least be able to fill 3 days for channel 9.

Bm your post makes no sense. You are crying about the big 3 and also crying that one of the big 3 is giving a test series to a minnow ?

The big nations would rather not play the west indies. Cricket australia is going to lose millions of dollars from gates alone.

The windies problem is much deeper than the big 3.

I didn't say the big 3 created the windies problems, but they've helped make them worse. There is a long list of issues. From the growth of american sports in the Caribbean, to infrastructure decay, to incompetent administrators. And all of that is inflated by the actions of the rich countries.

I didn't say we shouldn't play them. Of course we should. But lots needs to change. We should give them an ethical split of the income the game gets, and to get it we should force changes on them to get good independent competent administration.

I realise you're being facetious....

But in all seriousness, I doubt that the Windies will manage to get to 27 and 23....
