I didn't say the big 3 created the windies problems, but they've helped make them worse. There is a long list of issues. From the growth of american sports in the Caribbean, to infrastructure decay, to incompetent administrators. And all of that is inflated by the actions of the rich countries.

I didn't say we shouldn't play them. Of course we should. But lots needs to change. We should give them an ethical split of the income the game gets, and to get it we should force changes on them to get good independent competent administration.

What would be an ethical split ?

Cricket australia pumps huge amounts of revenue back into the game. The players make excellent money which lessens our reliance on ipl money. CA and the ECB are the rearguard of test cricket.

If we subsidised nations like nz and the wi outside of giving them tours that could severely hurt test cricket.

Mate CA and ECB are fully in bed with the Indians. Obviously if what I was saying was to happen it would need the Indians on board too. The'd have to give back some of thheir money.

And only having 3 or 4 decent opposition teams is severely hurting test cricket. Almost every 2nd series is a joke. That hurts test cricket.

I'm not talking about cheap hand outs, but properly intelligent investment in these countries will pay off for us in the long run when there is more quality cricket.

Yes we are in bed with india...india also pull in huge amounts of revenue for both CA and the ECB with tv. The ECB especially which is one of the issues ireland have in getting test status. England make so much from being the only cricket on over that period.

The windies are a lost cause pretty much but nz are one of the poorest boards and they have put together some good players. Id not be opposed to the icc investing in nz cricket but the icc would literally need to seize control of wicb and hold control of it for a zillion years.

I remember hearing Richie Benaud a few years back, when Australia were pumping WI.

The gist of his comment was, did anyone care when the WI were ar$e raping Australia, and smashing them in 3 days, and making their captain quit in tears, yada yada yada? No siree. So tough shit now.

And that from a legend of the game.

Also just on BM post this is one of the most competitive periods in test cricket history. Only really the windies suck (and zimbabwe)

Difference was those were all-time great Windies teams, and the Australians were middle of the road test-wise

Now you have a middle of the road Australian team pounding a once proud test nation.

I fear for the future of West Indies cricket - I know things change, but small nations like them (and NZ) are vulnerable, and it'd be sad if they couldn't mount a respectable team

269, 33 boundaries, no sixes.

137 runs in singles/doubles/triples. Patient knock, despite being at close to a run a ball.

I think the decision to declare with Voges closing in on 300 was poor, at best.

Where's the harm in going out for another 15 - 20 overs?

Yeah, it's not like the outcome of the match will be different. Let him get his triple.

Braithwaite gooooooorne here. And burns a review.

Siddle used McGrath as an example of bowlers not needing extreme pace to be effective, but I don't ever remember Glenn bowling middle 120's in his first spell.

He's done

Would my suspicion be accurate in that Siddle's pace has started dropping alarmingly as his consumption of banana's has increased?? He was a decent bowler when he used to eat dead animals, but since he went vegan he started bowling slower than Zoe Goss

I can co-exist with every race and religion in the world.

But I cannot co-exist with vegetarians/vegans

They are on a whole other level of f**king insanity.

They actually believe that their refusal to eat meat will somehow do some good for the animal kingdom.

f**k no. Just means more for me to eat.

And I will f**king eat it.

Dumb merkins.
