How much money does cricket australia lose on tours like this ? No wonder they want a million ashes series and indian odi series

Could it be argued, that the stronger nations refusing to play more regular test series against the weaker nations is a part of the decline in these weaker sides?

If so, then the financial hit is justified.

Who exactly are these 'weaker' nations though? Yes, the Windies are at an all-time low, and Zimbabwe a rabble, but the rest are much of a muchness, would have been really interesting if Australia could have toured Bangladesh - everyone is pretty solid at home

when I say weaker, I mean it not entirely in an on-field sense.

England, Australia and India all but run the game, they organise tours and matches to suit them

SMarsh 5 shy of breaking his highest ever FC score.

Just top edge one over the keepers head for 6

well done West Indies. Marsh probably thought he'd never break his old top score.

That's such a shame as well. It must hurt the players to a certain degree too, especially when it comes to the Ashes being a traditional 5 test series. Dosn't always leave a lot of room for other matches/series.

Smith for example has played 28/37 of his tests in either England or Australia (I do realise his first couple of years he was in and out of the side so missed other overseas toures). It's not just a shame for the players themselves in a way, but the fans who would like to see guys like Smith/Warner touring their country and playing in their conditions.

I don't reckon we should be declaring yet at all.
Get 600, keep them to under 400, enforce the follow on and knock them over a second time.

If we declare today the test ends today.

This is an absolute farce.

Yesterday after Warner got out someone here posted (and since deleted it) that we are "into the tail already".

Next minute...highest ever 4th wicket partnership.
What a good prediction that was.

now 12 runs required to become the highest ever partnership for Australia, ever.

Marsh being told "Get to 200 in the next 5 overs, otherwise I'm declaring on your arse"
