Bloody appalling today. I hate and love the derby but didn't see this coming today. Really thought this was going to be a close game.

Mills you wernt brilliant but you deserved the points...and yes it was a disappointing local derby but when you complete 16 from 31 with 4 to go that's bloody awful by anyones standards...anyhow well done mate

Was so dissapointed with the effort today against the shonkies, too many poor players to complain about but was encouraged by the fact that the cutters have had two good wins in a row. Thoughts on McCrone at hooker for rein, and FiaLoa scored two and maybe an option for a wing spot. Atkin into the centres and if Dooges is out Quinlan at FB. Drastic times require drastic action or McGregor has to be put on notice. Also Widdop seems to be playing so structured he has forgot to play whats in front of him? Oh to be a Dragons fan :)

Based on current form I can only see one win against Oanthers in the first 6 rounds.

Forget the below games
Souths
Broncos
Nth Qld

Based on above scenario we will need 13 wins out of the last 16 games to make top 8 based on 28 points being the cutoff ..

Say hello to 2017 if we don't jag at least two wins from our first 6 games..

Mann ... Rubbish. Apart from the errors his lack of overall involvement was concerning. Mary wanted a ball playing fullback yet there were ZERO structured plays which had the fullback chiming in to create the extra man. Mann didn't even seem to want to do the hard yards and take a hit up or dummy half run. Quickly earning the nickname "the phantom" due to being invisible in matches...

Rein.... Genuine dumbest hooker ever. Just bad passing, too hard, too soft, behind the receiver, at their shoulder....

Lafai.. Missing in action. Not enough work rate .

Peter M .... Looked classy with limited opportunities.

Packer and Plodder... Solid. I did think though Packer played too many minutes before he was rested and the quality of his work lessened due to this

Havali.... Looked dangerous, ran hard and should have got more minutes.

Creagh .... Added zero intensity or attitude. Bench players need to lift their team mates through energy but Creagh simply looked like he was playing in a training drill.

Thompson and Matthews ... Both looked good and will get better with more game time under their belts.

Poor use of the bench rotation again by Mary. Attack was non existent, no structure and plenty of errors.

The concern is I didn't think the gummies were that impressive , yet handled us quite easily whilst never hitting top gear themselves...

Don't forget the most overrated player in the competition whom Melbourne likely wouldn't offer 1/4 of what we are paying him. The only time he isn't solid or "workman-like" is when he is outright bad. Today he was shocking. A toss up between him and Mann (FFS, Melbourne are laughing at us:x!) for the worst on field today. At least if he is going to catch and pass 5 meters before the line (as he does pretty much 100% of the time) those passes should be to the runners breadbasket.

And FFS, that is 3 games in a row he has kicked out on the full:x!

Mate you've pretty well summed up todays effort......As Ive said over and over on here Rein tries his guts out but his passing game is bloody awful, he would have the worse passing game in the league and its not helped by our flat footed forwards (I guess they don't wont to run onto the ball because it rarely hits them in the chest) having said that Widdop sent some awful passes today ....I agree re Packer thought he was on a little to long (its only his 2nd 1st grade game for quite awhile (not including trials)..... Havali late inclusion was useless....Creagh is very predictable these days and is easily picked off.....hope Thompson gets better soon he lacked penetration and is nowhere near his best...and finally Im not about to put Mann to the sword just yet (although he cant have to many chances)its a shame that his first 2 games were away the 1st at AAMi where he would have been under pressure and at Shark park

Another frustrating game to watch but for different reasons to last week's loss to Melbourne.

Early on, the team was defending well and looking like we were gaining the ascendancy. Then we were playing against 12 men and for reasons unknown, the intensity just dropped off. Dumb decisions, fundamental errors, and generally losing control of the ruck. It seemed like half the team was low on confidence. It can't be just because of a decision to take a shot at goal.

The game plan seemed to be to hit them hard in defence, that's a sound foundation but hardly new. Both sides were hitting hard, but it was only the Sharks who had a plan B.

On the subject of low confidence, I really felt for Kurt Mann out there. The kid looked out of his depth and appears to have something on his mind, but it ain't about playing football.

We started ok.

Better use of the bench may have allowed us to outlast the Sharks.

They have more strike power in the back line. Simple as that. Barba, Holmes, Bird given too much space out wide.

Our mob looks as if it has over trained and is fatigued after 20-30 minutes. May be a conditioning issue.

As for Mary, he is a man manager not a tactician. That is why we hired Demetriou.

Doing an excellent job with the Cutters attack so far. Perhaps he needs to spend a bit more time with FG.

Poor game from all.
I did not realise how slow Jason Nightingale was and he must surely be under pressue on his last two performances.
I have no idea why Aitken was dropped?Lafai and his mate Dugan really struggle in the centres, and poor Mann would be wondering why he did come over to the Dragons. He is not a bad kid and can only improve.
Mary would have been better served in leaving things as they were and let the new guys earn their stripes.
On a positive we can only get better I hope,or we will be 0-6 before we know it and the season will be gone.
I trust the early extension of Mary's contract is on hold as I can see him under serious pressure before seasons end.
One ex Panther coach Cleary is looking for a new home.

They got me out of my bed to watch the game today. It took a bit of effort but as all of us were, I was bitterly disappointed. They showed real guts, if not cohesion in the first 30 minutes but the next fifty was a nightmare. The only saving grace is that last week they should have won against Melbourne, the same Melbourne who flogged the Titans today. We have played two games and yet WE were two different teams, Jekyll and Hyde. Prior had the last laugh again today, annoying. On another post I have suggested some changes but Mary will stick by today's team. If we play like today again next week we will get smacked. I will keep my head up, I hope the team does....back to the vomiting.

What did JDB do to deserve that? Mann, Widdop and Lafai were shocking, Benji is the only one entitled to his match payment and the rest were bad.

Vas, you are a goose. Beni looks flash, runs all over the place, made a great break that would have netted us a try if we had a winger with pace, but not much else. Having said that I am still a Nighty fan. just stating the facts. Individually he shines, as far as the team is concerned he stinks.

The problem to me is that we still have two 5/8's taking turns. No one is playing direct or steering the team around the field. We need a real halfback.
Might be time to give McCrone a shot (though that thought does not make me too excited.)

There is hardly anyone in the team who deserves much praise, it was a total team disaster.

And lets get Dugan back at Fullback, what is that going to achieve when the halves are crabbing all over the place. Let's put last seasons line up back on the paddock, and hope for a different result. Good luck with that idea.

A few sleepless nights for Mary I expect. As they say the buck stops there. Here's hoping he can find an answer.

Nearly forgot. Rein has to go. Busy, tough defender but little else. Time to give Havili a shot.
