Rein has shown that with maturity he's going to be good hooker , his work rate was high .one of best games he has played ,he along with au mau and packer up front paved the way. Rein for state of Origen

Obviously a troll thread but Rein is class.
This forum is full of merkins who don't rate him, but that's why their only contribution to the Dragons is through an anonymous forum.

Well done on the last two weeks to Rein and the saints but its called opinions mate and without a opinion what's the point of a forum ? Most of the people here just want the best for the team, he is tough with a great work rate and if he can play like that week in week out then yes he will become a good hooker but two games does not make him a good hooker. Decision making along with passing game is a major part of being a hooker.

Rein was great today and being at the game you can tell he was giving 100% over and over. The only thing that doesn't make sense is having havilli on the bench and not giving him any time today and last week only 7 minutes. Just my opinion

I think Rein in a good footballer. He is one tough little guy, and really aims up in defence considering his size. He's great against big tiring packs. He's no Smith or Farrar, but he's in the top 5 hookers most weeks. He has become an 80 minute footballer too, which gives Mary options. Not sure we need Havili on the bench the way Rein is playing.

I'm a Rein critic but that is the best game I think I've ever seen him play. May he keep it up.

Played terrific yesterday, it's the type of footy he's capable of especially when we get on a role he's a very dangerous runner because of his speed and footwork around the rucks.

No doubt he had a decent game yesterday, however they are too few and far between for my liking.

He plays his guts out, & is quick against bad marker defence & can get you on the front foot. But otherwise he's a subpar hooker, with average service, & terrible decision making.

Rein is a pretty solid hooker with a great defensive work rate and can make great metres out of dummy half, just please don't ever kick the f**king ball!

Hes got to show some consistency this season, im stilll in no hurry to re-sign him, he has to show that even on a bad day he can still do the basics.

But it was like some switch flicked last week, and he stepped up, I dont know whats going on behind closed doors.. but I like it..

If he keeps playing the way he is last two weeks consistently, we'll have a very good season.

It's Packer
He's shown the rest of the pack the value of playing the ball quickly
Rein getting a little moe time due to this and our pack's go-forward has instilled confidence
IMO he'll get better definite SOO bolted if this form improves or even continues

Would have loved to see Havilli have a run yesterday, especially in the 10 minutes before half time.

That's a good point, playing behind a dominant prop will make a big difference to a small hooker. At any rate I think he's played well this season.

That was reins best game in his whole career. I have been very critical of Mitch, but he did deliver yesterday. It's now about consistently doing that

I have been one of his fiercest critics; but he had a terrific game yesterday. Hats off.

I'm in this boat. If he can play consistently like that, he MAY be worth re-signing. But Ihope we dont jump the gun on him again, lets see how his season pans out.

Bingo. Anyone else notice the hit up he took that lead to aiktken's try? I know it's early days still, and he has made a few mistakes, but Packer has to be the most dominant prop we have had at the club for a very long time. He bends the line, lands on his stomach and quickly plays the ball. I know Weyman was similar, but he didn't have that intimidating factor that packer has. Neither did Bailey. Ryles was a big body, but too gangly and sometimes struggled to bend the line. The only one imo that comes close is Craig Smith.

As long as packer is on the field, we are a chance in any game.

On rein, the most pleasing thing for me, besides the things we know he does well, was his passing. I'm seeing spiral cut out balls and I had to look twice to see it was rein.
