Look, I won't dish out on a fan who wants to stay positive but to suggest you're doing better under Mary by comparing it against the price years is laughable because Mary is below the NRL standard to begin with.

Heart breaking to watch tonight because the effort they made particularly in defence deserved a better result. On the other hand our poor execution in attack gave us the points we probably deserved. Dugan in attack never stopped trying. At the beginning of the season I was hoping my scepticism about the team having a lack of point scoring ability was misplaced. I take no comfort what so ever in that so far this season my analysis has been correct. I also believe many others on this forum with their great knowledge of the game and players would of had the same lingering doubts. So where to from now, buggered if I know. One thing I'm sure of is while the boys are putting in the effort like they did tonight I will be supporting them all the way and will ride it out till things turn around and we become a serious contender once again.

At the end of the day Mary must look in the Mirror and be honest with himself. A lot of wasted time with Price already!

What ever happens the last thing we need is for the club to appoint an interim coach as it will be Dean Young and it will be Grounhog year all over again. They won't have the guts or foresight to even approach Clearly or Toovey and I'm not sure they would be the solution.
The club really needs to perform a dodgy like the Dogs did and offer Hasler a mil to break contract and join our club for 2017 and rebuild the mess. He's done it before, so I'm guessing money talks for Des!!

I have a feeling, the Coach has lost the playing group, if the Board had any brains they would be looking at Ivan Cleary now. Someone posted that these performances, will just cull any chances of new signings, we are struggling across just about every facet of the game from on field, attracting players, retention of quality juniors, TPA's, cash flow, membership.
Just heard 2UE sports report, Vossy pointed the finger direct at Widdop saying possibly his worst game ever. John Stanley said, coach will be under pressure in another 4 weeks (John Stanley is Dragons fan, and has done media events for the Dragons). I can't cop this for another 4 weeks, our season and his job is on the line now.....big changes needed to salvage anything from season 2016....that promised so much at the start of the year..

You are right with our club being one of the less ruthless ones with cutting coaches. We are often viewed as a more stable and conservative club with issues like this. Calm heads do need to prevail in times like these.
A couple of things if I may...
- I still think it is too early to cut the coach but it doesn't hurt to have the discussion and look at possible options. If we're not always looking at improving, we may as well not bother.
- McGregor would be one of the cheaper NRL coaches going around and the commercial realities would be strongly weighed up before a decision is made. That is, pay out dollars verse damage to the brand/club and incoming revenue (gate receipts, merchandise, corporate dollars).
- Sponsors have an influence in decision making on these matters and are consulted.
- One half of the JV that contributes very little towards the JV, except seats on the board of he JV, would not support his sacking. He is the golden child from the Wollongong area that is seen to do no wrong.
My last point is where I see the crux of many of our problems. The JV is holding us back with the involvement of a broadcaster and his son. They hold the aces here.

Yes effort is there in defense and one out individual taking the ball up attack but that is all.
For me any coach that targets and be satisfied for 50% win / loss ratio (his words in the press conference) is not sending the right message.... to anyone and is basically defeating himself. And seeing a positive of looking forward to the back end of the year where we have a lot of home games and finish with Newcastle. I guess by then he is hoping things fall into place.

How about Jason Taylor? He really laid the platform for the success the eels and souffs currently have, and at great risk to his personal safety.
