If we could get him them definitely go for peats. His defence would make a huge difference, plus he is a great all round attacker. Getting him here would be the hard part. As silly as it sounds I'd like to swap cook for him. Say cook is on 200k, peats is on 400k and parra need to clear up 200k on their cap then it could work out for all parties. (Assuming we have a little wiggle room left in the cap)

Would love to have peats back again, and to jettison cook would be ideal but I cant see it happening. In the end if parra was paying a large amount then who knows. Focus should be on some forwards

We cant swap Peats for McInnes as they are on very similar money, it wouldnt help Parra get under the cap which is the only reason they want to move him. And you are absolutely correct, it is proving to be a huge mistake signing a completely unproven player to such a huge deal. Bully is really to blame for all this. We let Peats and Api go because they deserved a starting spot only for Bully to get out of his contract halfway along when only McInnes was left.

We let peats go in after 2013 because it was impossible to keep 2 quality high paid hookers in the same squad. We had to pay a bit over to keep McInnes after Luke left because we had no hookers in our squad for 2016 and their were no hookers on the market at the time. It's easy to say in hindsight that we made the wrong decisions, but both were the sensible options at the time.
As for getting rid of Mcinnes, what club would take him off our hands at his current value. If Peats was to become available for us it would be easier to move cook on then mcinnes plus if you had peats you wouldn't need cook at all and mcinnes would be back to being depth.

100% agree. Cook for Peats would be great for us, won't happen cuz i'm not sure it gets rid of enough money for Parra. We also probably have greater needs at prop, 2nd row and centre than at hooker.
