At 11.03 I whats apped my wife and said the chokes were on.

FLMAO!!!

Didn't even place.

And thus begins the BS media excuses. Please still love me, blahblahblah.
I dunno, this seems like a worse result than last time despite a few more medals.

And a lot of people are upset lol, I don't remember being quite so p*ssed off last time.
They need to be held accountable, almost all of these swimmers in a great position to win but choked.

Rob us blind, does it even mean that much to this lot??? FFS i know someone quite well who is in the Aussie Water Polo team and over in RIO. They get absolutely nothing whatsoever and he absolutely does every he can to get picked and make the olympics. He bleeds green and gold. Unlike these pampered millionaire scoftcocks in the pool.

Just a thought, Chalmers victory was that of a pure competitor. Loved the big moment and the intense close competition of the 100m free.

I wonder how much of that is down to his AFL background and his ex AFL player father. He's obviously grown up in an ultra competitive environment.

Contrast that with these others who've probably been pampered swimmers since 10 and little more.

I agree. As much as I bag AFL, he looked composed.

How can I strut around now, living vicariously by the deeds of gold medal winning swimmers if they don't win gold?!?!?!?

Its also the media attention, they don't seem to be able to handle the pressure. At Worlds, there is very little media attention and expectation placed upon them.

The only two individual golds so far have been from guys who had far less expectation placed upon them.

The only people happy with the Campbell Capitulation will be the ABS.

The way the internet is reacting in Australia, it might completely break down this arvo.

FLMAO!

Go 'Straya!

The interview sort of shows it all really.
I understand they need to be humble but saying 'nothing to be ashamed of' to not even medal in an event you were breaking records in the heats of....you should be filthy at yourself.

Compare them to Bogut yesterday, absolutely gutted for just losing to America and saying doing well ain't good enough.
