Chalmers and McEvoy both qualify for the 50m.
Don't think lightning is striking twice but would be good to see McEvoy bounce back.
Coach said he choked in the 100m, seems like we need to create an artificial pressure environment for our swimmers.
What happened to Abood??

I know McEvoy missed out.

I'm going to go against the trend here and say that neither Campbell will medal in the 50...

They are both mentally shot...
Maybe.
But I'm a fan so I won't give up on Cate.

Just looking at team USA's swimming accolades, their stars are their college guys.
With the exception of Phelps their all out pros dont tend to perform as good.

I wonder if the paycheck is part of the pressure.
The college kids get nothing.
Ledecky will get no profits from her golds until she graduates, so she basically swims for her country without any pressure.

The Italian guy was always the favourite going in anyway he's going to have to swim 14:35 to have a shot at gold

Not sure must have got done in the semis?

Looks like the french guy Manadou will take it out, although the american Adrian is a dark horse.

Lol Sun Yang, so how did the chinese media twist it this time?

Shorty, didn't you hear he had an "illness" and "wasn't well going into the race"...FMD glad he lost good riddance.

Manadou at his best wins the 50m but funnier things have happened in the sprint. Can't see Adrian winning if both swim their best.

I hope Horton gets the 1500 title and has a top
sledge lined up

I hope I'm wrong but I can't see the Italian losing. His best time is a bit better. Horton needs to hope that the Italian is a little under his best and he needs to do 14:35 minimum to win

The thing is Horton is aware of what time he needs to make to win, he isn't really fussed on other athletes just what time he needs to make to win.
I noticed this approach all the way back to the trials.
I think the young Canadian and Chalmers thought this way too, they saw their split and focused on beating that time, didn't take notice of anyone else's times.

Shorty, I will be happy to be wrong definitely. He's a chance. I have the Italian as the favourite though.

Good old Basil Fawlty, can't wait to hear the Aussie pushing through the field even though she's coming 8th.

The Yanks are incredible performers in the pool. Dirado beating Hosszu, Earvin winning the 50m free at 35.

All they do is compete to the death and win. Take note Australia.
