Coaches are fallible and sometimes (however rarely), the common fan knows best. There were plenty of people suggesting we keep the team together and forego the points, as this would benefit the team more in the long term. Turns out BA now agrees.

He specifically referred to the fact other merkins have departed .... and said we did what we had to at the time .... i dont think he regretssplitting the team up so much as we have lost a few since kinda making it unnecessary to lose a strong player

the NRL said they would do it if Parra didn't so there was no choice

Arthur never even mentioned what you're bullshitting about

Yea I get that. Just that losing such a good player in such an important position to play for points when we were f**k all chance of making the 8 this season is not good long term planning.

Basically said if Foran had made a decision earlier he would have kept Peats. He did what he had to do at the time

Seems to think that Hayne basically should be at the Eels, but wasnt prepared to mortgage the future for him

Semi is now,in a good place after dealing with his issues , a lot arising from the cultural side of things

He is deeply involved in decisions being made on CEO and Manager, Football - which they will not rush just to take the pressure off BA, as those appointments are very important to the long term goals. Also that the direction from Maxi is clear

We need a long term halfback and the search and recruitment won't be rushed

He is an impressive individual who stated to Sterlo that he wanted to be at the club for a long time, well past his current contract

We also lost the next few games which made it pretty much impossible to
make the semis. This also made it unnecessary to lose a strong player. Most people saw this as inevitable and I think if BA had his time again, regardless of other player movements, we would have kept Peats and played for no points.

What would the NRL do? Everything I've read stated we couldn't accumulate points unless we shed players, not that we couldn't play each week. Do you have a source?

I love BA and wouldnt swap him for any other coach

I also wonder though if he can be a bit of a fibber ... he said he needs to put on a strong front ... and i reckon he is heavily into being positive .... makes me think he may well be a fibber at times to keep this strong positive vibe
