As a Storm Fan I had zero problem with Gals speech.

Honestly between him and Cam with the Amount if shit fans and the media heap on them from origin etc I am surprised by how chipper they are.

I would be a complete cynic with a inability to smile.

And considering how heated the game was both teams showed great comradeship and sportsmanship at the end of the game.

The thing is Cam is an exceptional public speaker and Gal is an OK one. Good thing it was a rugby league grand final and not a debating comp.

Fair enough.

But I was talking about the speech which wasn't all that gracious.

Smith was the better sport.

I thought smiths speech was selfish and graceless bordering on condescension. Why was he talking about the wait Cronulla fans had to endure. Mate it's not a job interview, you already have a channel 9 gig sewn up. Get off the farging stage already!

He was the ultimate professional and very respectful. A great sport and role model for our game.

You obviously have a grudge against him. You don't need to deny it as I can already tell.

I see right through him mate. Wants to be seen saying all the right things but on-field, he is one of the grubbiest player of all time. So yeah, I'm not buying his act.

Or you can just for once accept that Cam Smith has proved you wrong. No matter what he said I'm sure you'd have tried to search long and hard for a negative

No, i thought so at the time. He was grandstanding. His speech was longer than Gal's. Gerroff already!

I will admit I am biased but that was my honest reaction.

He's a great player and making 70+ tackles is unheard of. Still dont like Cameron.

really, you're surprised at Gallens lack of graciousness? lol

Harsh on Chambers but end of day that decision was difference between winning or losing. In fairness to the sharks they were the better team on the day and wouldn't have deserved to lose at the death but Storms defence was incredible. 72 tackles for Smith. not bad for an old fella!
Didn't you hear him say thanks to Melbourne, like all you Shark hating farkers you all have selective hearing.

Thought Cam Smiths speech was patronising.

Yeah I cried like a baby when I saw ET balling. Not only that but I have had relos and other Shark supporters I knew who have passed and never got to see them do it.

When did this stupid tradition start of players putting on premiership t-shirts after the game? It not only looks cheap and ridiculous but you would think the players would would want to keep on the jersey they played and bled for all year.

At least sharks put them on after the presentation. If you look at Tigers premiership pictures there is hardly a Tigers jersey to be seen which is bloody ridiculous.

I thought Smiths speech dragged on a bit as well. It was the sharks moment, let them have it. He has been praised for being so gracious in defeat but that is the norm for losing captains. Try find any losing captain that wasn't gracious. I can vaguely remember James Graham speech when we won the grand final and i think he congratulated souths and the souths fans on breaking their long premiership drought as well, but at least he had the presence of mind to wrap it up quick so souths could get on with lifting the trophy.

As for Gallens speech, he just won a grand final, he has earned the right to say whatever he wants. If he said 'get that one up you, you merkins' i would have been cool with it. His speech was for the sharks and the sharks fans, and with that in mind he nailed it
