Panthers need to be held to account

By having 8 games a week to sell to TV mostly. Nothing to say Panthers have to be in one of those 8 games. We arent talking about 16 clubs damaging the NRL through the media, we are talking about one repeatedly . So yes the NRL does feed the 16 clubs, a lot of money and license to exist.
When Panthers spout to the media negativity it damages the whole game, including their own earning ability. Shame they are too dumb to understand this, but then they did put Gould in charge so no wonder the CEO's are merely a reflection.

When it comes to Gus, any publicity is good publicity even if they are bagging out the game and the administration. It gets people talking about the game, the competitions and more so Gus and the Panthers which equals exposure and extra $

There's a simple answer.

Make the Nines by invitation. Clubs that don't play miss out and have their NRL grants cut for not promoting the sport or fulfilling their commitments to the broadcasters, sponsors and fans.

And ultimately if rugby league clubs don't want to play rugby league they can step aside and let new clubs in who do.

And how do the NRL make money to pay the club grants? Pretty f**kin sad competition the NRL would have without the clubs.

If the NRL was disbanded tomorrow the clubs would just make a new one and no f**ks would be given by anyone. The NRL as an organisation has no intrinsic value.

spot on. Every team brings something to the NRL

Which amounts to forcing them to participate, which is what happens now.
No it doesn't. They could opt out. But if they did they shouldn't receive the same amount of cash. Why should they?

Like I said, if they don't want to be part of the NRL, there's plenty of others who will take their place.

Don't want to play Nines but will anyway because the Governing body requires it = don't want to be in NRL.

That's quite a jump in logic right there.

The cash, well it would all depend how much you want to dock them. If it's $20, I'd say they don't play in the 9's. If it's $8m, they do. But that's not how it works, is it? Playing in the Nines is a requirement. There is no opt out for x dollars option.

What has happened here, some journo has rung around all 16 clubs looking for a bite. He got one from the new CEO at Penrith. It's no big deal. I can assure you that being obligated to do so the Penrith club will field a team that complies with the rules over the weekend, and they may even be trying to win.

And when they don't win they can have a bitch about it and undermine the whole event. And if they do win it and win a lump of cash they wouldn't otherwise have, what will they say then? If someone did ring around and 15 club bosses were smart enough to say nothing or not complain, good on them. Doesn't say much for the Panthers that theirs didn't.

I like the pennies always have, they said they needed a clean out, Jennings and Lewis seen as the problem.

Premiership winners since, Panthers also ran, not even a threat, Glass houses.

You are just going to have to get over this mate. You cannot have their spot in the NRL, sorry, thats the way it goes.

Jennings and Lewis seen as the problem.
Lewis was never the same for us after losing the captaincy. No-one was happier for him than us that he won a second title and the Churchill medal. Jennings was a lazy prick. Still is. He had a good year at the Roosters but they could see what he is like and its all downhill now. The one we shouldn't have let go was Wade Graham.

One could say the same of Preston Campbell in any case.

a good punishment for them would be to tell Gus and the CEO there will never be a team in Perth

And that's my point, any opportunity panthers like to fire bullets at the game. 15 clubs were professional, one was not. And not for the first time.

So what do you want to do about the Warriors picking their best player injured to get the numbers of first graders up then leaving him out at the death? Worthy of the burdizzo clamp surely?

Into the semis. Beat the premiers with our 20's and reserve graders. Ead haters

How many Sharks' first graders played in the 9s today? A second string team if ever there was one.Wouldn't wet my strides over beating them. They have a WCC to attend to shortly.
