Cleary will also never be a superstar, just lacks that natural skill needed to reach those hights. Think he will have a career similar to Cronk. Which is obviously still one hell of a player, Gower was that type as well imo
A Cooper Cronk with a bit more pace. Yeah, if he can do that for most of his career with us he will rival Brandy and Gowie as being the best player.

How many of those games where Moylan defending in the frontline?

Fair point.

Went and had a look & I think he only played 7 games at 5/8 for us.

He missed 30 tackles in those 7 games, so 4.3 per game. Still a fair bit better than Maloney, but not quite the same difference.

The way I see the whole deal is it is the Sharks who are taking the gamble here and a huge one at that.

Whether you like it or not Moylan is far from proven as an NRL quality five / eighth.

Despite his age we are getting a player who was proven himself at NRL level and deemed worthy to represent his state and country on numerous occasions.

Given what has transpired during this season and Moylan's issues, some documented and well known and some which will never know about this is a good deal for all concerned.

Billy when world cup sides were announced: lack of Penrith representation is a reflection of how devoid of stars we are
Billy when we sign an Australian representative 5/8: ffs he's shit

Coote and Austin have done ok since Graham left.

Now Moylan & TMM.

People are right to be questioning the roster management

So you would of had Coote, Austin, TMM & Moylan all in the same team? How? Losing players is part of the game.

Moylan is a completely different case altogether anyway, the bloke wanted to leave. Our squad management & salary cap management is good enough that we’ve brought in an international as his replacement.

If Gower wasn't the equal of Johns, he was damn close. What held him back happened off the field.

Gowie was a brilliant player and one of our all time best. His indiscretion at a gold event up the coast was unfortunate but we all make mistakes and it should not detract from what he achieved as a player and for our club. In my opinion Craig Gower's achievements rank alongside those of Greg Alexander and Brad Fitter in terms of what they achieved for our club.

No just making the general point that we’ve had a decent turnover of quality young talent. Gus talks a big game on juniors, but he also lets them walk pretty easily, at least until now.

Gus I think was likely aware of the fans dismay in this regard too, I think that’s why we heard reports of the club wanting $250k compensation for Moylan to be able to leave. He ended up getting a player swap, so you’re right, not as big a deal as some others. However I do think he’s aware that perhaps they’ve made some poor decisions of recent times.

The general fanbase are morons, most thought May was a better option than Matty. Happy we got a mostly soild half to replace him

And the poor decisions don’t just relate to youth player retention.

Tamou signing was poor (some think we’ll lose another junior because of it)
Whare 5 year deal, I mean WTF?
Peta Hiku signing

Most of this stuff has been more recent, just seems to me that the decisions have been getting worse. But at least he got a player swap out of Moylan.

Herbert, I don’t agree with your view but at least you’re open to discussion.

Agree re: Hiku but I think it’s way too early to make a call on Whare or even Tamou.

I can’t see how Gus isn’t under the pump really.

After dumping Cleary he had to get significant improvement out of the team to justify the move, as yet we haven’t seen it.

Combined with things like appointing Corey Payne as CEO and there’s a lot more people starting to question his management. Just a fact of life.

Moylan is an international... Sharks have offloaded Maloney to us to get him.

Moylan is a better player with more upside. Sharks aren't f**king stupid like Phil Gould is. They pounce on the players he treats like shit and they get good results from them.

Losing players is part of the game... why bother developing anyone when all we're doing is delivering the opposition premierships? We create premiership quality players. Then piss them off before they deliver for us.

We strengthen the opposition at our own expense. Meawhile you want to suck Phil Goulds dick for doing so.

Dickheads like Martie Lang want to suck his dick.

f**k the stats. f**k the results. Whatever Gould does was perfect.
