It does beat the heck out of finishing bottom 4 year in and year out.

As an eels fan who hadnt seen finals in previous 7 years I agree. Realistically your interested for 95% of the season. Both our teams where there till final 2 games.

You know what Billy.Totally agree about people being over sensitive about it.

If Gus were to come out and say the opposite we would have had less bargaining power in getting compensation. The ends justifies the means.

And lmao at the Telegraph trying to 'side with us'.Five year plan, Sandor Earl...hope Rupert Murdoch has a stroke and News Corp folds the f***ing wankers.

Umina Panther - you need to chill out and think back before Gus arrived! He may not be perfect, but he has done more for this club than anyone for a long, long time! He does not derserve the derision that you pour on him.

And I have the feeling Nathan is waiting for the chance to f**k over Gus BIG TIME

Nathan had his chance to get back at the Panthers previously but showed some professionalism and chose not to.

Looking at more recent media reports hopefully he stays long term.

We should throw as much money as we can at him. Don' wont a repeat of Freddy again.

Nathan has been very clear in saying that he doesn't wish to be coached by his old man.

He wants his Dad to be his Dad.

He may well take a better offer else where some day, but it won't be to "F$&k Gould over". He's much more professional than that.

If Gus loses Nathan, the fans will string him up by the balls on Mulgoa Road.

He’s going to need to be paid at least as much as Ash Taylor just got (whatever that figure is)

Gus did mostly good stuff in his first 4 years, since then it’s been a different story.

There’s no escaping it.

If Cleary leaves, I would suspect it has more to do with the coach than Gould (assuming we match what others are willing to pay).

Not really. Just your opinion. I disagree with you. He has made mistakes, but so has every other club's football GM at some point or another.

The hiring of the CEO was his biggest mistake. Corey Payne was barely senior manager level in experience let alone executive level. The Knights made the same mistake with Gidley and it has not ended well for them. Gus has no experience in hiring executives to run a business and it showed.

Put it this way then.

He’s made more mistakes in the past 2 years than he did in his first 4. He’s slipping, he’s stale.

Gidley at least survived a few years, Payne was gone a few months later.

The drunk club captain asleep at the pokies was Jake Friend. Everyone here was quick to jump at it being Moylan and use it as a reason for him being gone.

Lets hope that's the Roosters excuse to get rid of him. He would be more handy for 3 years than Maloney would.

Petero may not have been washed up but he was a poor signing if the talk is to be believed that he & others controlled the locker room. Also the money that was sunk into a prop was absurd.

Tbh though the broncos fans judgement of Griffin has proven spot on. Go back and look at their criticisms in the broncos forum, most didn’t think he was a bad coach, just that he didn’t really have the X factor to take a team to the top. Ie. he couldn’t coach offensive structures.

Wasn't Petero's signing a knee jerk reaction to losing Craig Gower to Rugby Union?
