So the death penalty it is.

You're trying to make crimes against women sound worse than other crimes due to gender rather than the offense committed and that's rediculous.

I notice you have failed to mention the man Lodge assaulted. You sound kind of sexist.
Stop exaggerating. He has had at least four chances, four, and he still hasn't learnt. I was referring to all of his victims. I am not guilty of misandry here.

There were two seperate quotes in there. That part wasn't aimed at you.

I'm not having this conversation anymore. We disagree on the finer details but neither of us want him at the Panthers.

You are in the minority here. Matt Lodge should never, ever, play in the NRL again.

Oh so that makes it alright then? Matt Lodge is a serial offender, who has had prior form in this behaviour before this incident. He is a thug, and a coward, full stop, end of story.

Feel free to quote when I said it makes things ok. He's fulfilled every requirement put on him by the law and all the extra by the NRL as well so he has every right to play in the NRL.

I detest his crimes and commend the effort to reform. Attitudes like yours keep the cycle of offending going.

There would be a lot less players in the NRL if prior indiscretions determined eligibility.

Lodge has his fair share of critics but he’s done more to make good on his errors than say Greg Inglis who’s part of the NRL circlejerk of players who lead the game.

Auva, Greg Bird, Tetevano (?) etc etc

I'm happy to hear that you are a law abiding person. You still want to hold people down after they have have fulfilled their responsibilities to society/victims so they can't become a productive member of society like you.

Tetevano shouldn't be playing since he blamed rugby league for his actions.

I’m assuming this part was directed at someone else.

It looks like Brisbane will re-sign him. Plenty of NRL bad boys floating about, I’m sure we’ll get one of them!

Yeah Jane quoted wrong which meant mine got messed up sorry. I think you're right as much as I wish we could be as bad guy free as possible.

None of them should be in the game either. Would a teacher be allowed to still teach if proven to be a wife bashing scumbag?

Yet players that go to school and other community type things can. Should have a zero tolerance for players with a criminal record in the NRL. Lower levels are fine but none should play NRL.

The only home games I have missed since 2000. was when we put Junior Vaivai in a white ribbon jersey. My membership was posted back until that pig was let go

If you stop people from having a life because they have a criminal record you make things worse not better. It's the best way to get people to re-offend. Everyone in the game wants to be a good example to society but rehabilitation is apparently not a good thing. It's rediculous.

Look at Lodge. Because he's involved with the NRL he's getting counseling, the vixtims are getting their desired outcome and he's also using himself as an example to young people who are on the same path as he was so they can be better people.

I work in recruitment and many many companies want people with a clean criminal record.

Why should a salesman or hell even a school cleaner have more strict limit than being a professional sportsperson?

Ferguson isn't the only convicted sex offender working. He is the only one in professional sport in this country anyway. So RL isn't the only way

Exactly those companies have chosen what they want for their business just like the NRL has. I work for a large well known company and have a record.
