I’m not just talking about dropping players wily nily, I’m saying we need someone who can coach structure & then has the balls to drop someone if they make repeated mistakes or infringements.
Obviously there’s more to it than just dropping players, hence why I said we need someone experienced. And that doesn’t mean first grade experience, it just means a coach whose been around longer than a few years.
Hook dropped players but he couldn’t coach structure.
The worst thing for an inexperienced side such as ours would be doubling down with an inexperienced coach.
Lol oh no FFS! Name an experienced coach we can realistically get who can coach effective structures, maintain on and off field discipline and keep the playing group happy and motivated?
Youre naming the wet dream of coaches and demanding the club go and hire them. There’s only one coach like that and he’s not coming to penrith. The closest thing available is bennett and he just finished below us.
Our best chance at getting a Bellamy like coach is a young new coach, every experienced coach available has already been fired or let go from a previous job ie they weren’t good enough.
I’d like the club to go out a sign an experienced hooker who can manage the game like cam smith and take off running like Isaac Luke in his prime, it’s not going to happen tho and I won’t whinge when it doesn’t.
You know who the experienced coaches that are available, pick one who can do what you are describing or get over it.
I personally think Ivan is the guy, I always have. I don’t think even bellamy gets as far in 2014 as Ivan managed too but that’s just my opinion. But if Ivan’s not available give Cam a go, or get bennett.
