What odds would you get on Stephen Kearney being the Warriors longest serving coach? I suppose he has to see out his contract first.

I think the Warriors could have waited. They have rushed to re-sign a coach no-one would want.
He has a 35.2 winning record at NRL level. He won't see the 3 years out.

That’s not how it works anyway.

The last player signed doesn’t go anywhere. They can’t play until compliant but they aren’t forced out.

You're obliged to have a full 30 man squad too so we'd be non-compliant if we didn't fill those spots.

So if we had 28 spots filled we'd need to sign Seggy (or someone) before Friday 1 March.

The sharks will leave that empty and promote a lower grade player mid year to fill the 30.

Seggy will sit out if needed. We were also under the cap in 18 and no doubt 19 so the gap will go unspent. Oh well.

No doubt the minimum allowable contract which I think is now about 100K. He was making coffee this time last week as if he wouldn’t jump at it.

Shit yeah. A good barista is worth their weight in gold but I couldn't see 'em making $100k for 9 months work.

Happy with that. Our squad is seriously light on for edge forwards. Good to get someone who is proven NRL-standard.

Good addition but would have liked to have kept Jennings as well. Apparently he was gutted he wasn't staying this year. If only we moved Turner on.
