How do we know all of this? Where does the 800k amount come from? How do we know we're paying 400k for RCG going forward?
If this is the deal that was mustered to flip RCG, anyone involved should be accused of gross incompetence. It would be up there with the worst player release settlement of all time.
I mean think of the insanity of it. You're paying 400k a year for a player not to be here. That is a roster spot gone. Unless the player being released was adversely impacting the playing group (beyond perceived value of performances), then there is no justification to subsidise 50%.
If we are spending our cap money on juniors, and not overspending on them, then it won't matter if we're paying RCG, BLAKE, DWZ a percentage at other clubs, it only affects us if are spending beyond our means (like the sharks did, now the fire sale will begin) i know its not ideal, but i see all this as a transition, from Gus's overspending cap into Ivan's value for money cap, both have good merits, RCG under Hook & Gus for the 5 years could have been worth it, had things not gotten sideways mid season 2018, and now im happy if we get a few key signings, with Api, JWH, & hopefully Wado, along with our current team, we should be able to hit finals, especially (and i love maloney but.) without jimmys penalties, DWZ clashes, Blakes dropballs, and RCGs lineturns.
Our current young players are better learners, at the moment, i feel Hook made our top guys lazy, its no wonder we won 7 straight when the new blood came in.
Where is Frank Winterstien going, he was good, worthy for a spot in the 30 at least defensively at least
