I find it amazing how fans simply dont know the rules. Is it because they are changed so often ? The rules clearly say the ball must be intentionally grounded in goal by a defender to force a line drop out. Thanks whoever posted it and saved me looking it up


Do we ever go a year without a rule change?

I think its pretty straight forward to call tbh

What about if a defender INTENDED to try and get out of the in goal, but slips or something and goes straight to ground. Gets up and keeps running but a dropout is ruled. It could feasibly be perceived as intentional grounding.

This happens often. It’s just that a try to the opposition resulted in tonight’s instance, hence the conjecture. Usually it just costs the defenders a dropout.
