Depends on the end product. Currently the increasing taxes on beer are not hurting the beer companies because they just pass the cost onto the end consumer. Same thing would happen to carbon emission taxes. The ones who will suffer will be the end consumer and the environment.

We did have a price on carbon (until repealed by Abbott). Was there any evidence of an inflationary effect then ?

Only you and George Pell and Tony Abbott think that merkin.

It was an example about the cycle. Your mind is small. Think of an acorn. It is very hard for you to think outside of the acorn so you will believe what's told.
There are many humans around with larger brains then the acorn. And sometimes they question what others have told them. They try and define if there are other possibilities other humans have yet to think about. There own theories and ideas...
But you have an Acorn sized brain. :pensive:

Germany are out.

16 January 2020

The German government and regional leaders have agreed on a plan to phase out coal-fired power stations by 2038, involving compensation of about €40bn (£34bn; $45bn).

The end date for burning brown coal (lignite) - the dirtiest type of coal - could be brought forward to 2035, depending on the progress made.

Germany has more than 250,000 workers in renewable energy sectors - far more than in the coal industry.

not its not, it depends on who the comedian is, they all have different styles

its not designed to make sense, its all about getting a laugh and different styles can be subjective much like music

And I wouldn't describe his style as modern. I remember one of his jokes was about how he performed at a circumcision. "It was a real scream. Especially for the baby involved." The mob these days would lynch him, except that the term lynching might trigger somebody from the US Jim Crow era.
