As you all know, I'm pretty much pro development.

Not this time, and this is in Parramatta.......

This was one of the renders of the finished product....not too bad

And this is a recent pic of construction....
It's looking very average.

Particularly from this angle from the south....

It's only at half height now. It's going to end up between to the two Meriton towers at the right in height.
It's a shocker imo.

Poor architecture.

Why would we play the NRL GF there when all it holds is 45000 compared to ANZ stadium that holds 82000?
Agree and perhaps the plans will change after last months cancellation of the ANZ refurbishment. I think it’s a touchy subject right now and will probably be left alone for a while.

Good point. I have no idea when this World Cup runs

10th July - 20th August 2023. FIFA take control of all stadiums 2 weeks prior for re-branding.

Gold Coast and North QLD also weren't included in the bid for the same reason. Suncorp is a World Cup venue so Broncs will probably play on the Gold Coast.
Canberra wasn't included because their AFL loving Chief Minister decided not to support the bid. Their loss.
Newcastle Stadium is, so the Knights will probably play in Gosford, unless that is deemed a training base for some international teams, which is quite possible.

It's clear that the NRL worked with the FFA re stadium availability. Not so much the AFL, which is no surprise.

they really only have the G and Etihad, Geelong might be a bit small so they dont really have many grounds to offer

The controversial surface at BankWest Stadium will be re-turfed this week after a spate of high-profile injuries were sustained in round seven of the NRL.
Roosters young guns Victor Radley and Sam Verrills, Eels playmaker Mitchell Moses, Canberra forward Corey Horsburgh and Bulldogs fullback Will Hopoate all sustained significant injuries over the course of the weekend.

Venues Live has since made the decision to re-turf the venue despite some Parramatta players suggesting they had no issue with the surface whatsoever.

The surface was due to be re-turfed in the coming weeks but after an NRL commissioned independent turf expert inspection on Saturday night the decision has been made to fast-track the move.

Shocking bullshit headline. Hooper said that it was gping to be done next week anyway.

Silly headline considering Eels had no issues, yet poor Chooks got hurt so it must be the surface.
