Penguin... the old Col Bradley that came from Penrith... he was a god defensive smart centre without being fast
we got ZacLomax....we just need one more
Not too many centres are super fast, Roberts and Gagai are but Manu, Whare etc none of these guys match it with the fastest wingers. In round 1 which our match was played in the rain Lomax racked up the 5th fastest speed in the comp just a touch under Morris. Obviously BMoz is old but no one would say he’s too slow to be effective at NRL level. He’s fast enough, it’s more about acceleration than top speed anyway.

So we are not interested in AJ.

The Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra aren’t interested in signing unwanted South Sydney back Alex Johnston after the Rabbitohs told the premiership-winning flyer that he wouldn’t have a contract beyond this season due to salary cap restrictions.

Johnston’s eight-year tenure with the Rabbitohs will finish at season’s end, opening the door for the former Indigenous All-Star to sign with another club.

The gifted outside back’s preference is to remain in Australia, with his manager Steve Gillis confirming that a stint in the English Super League wasn’t an option.

Johnston has been offered up to St George Illawarra, but the Dragons are looking in another direction and aren’t interested in signing the Rabbitohs winger.

It comes as Souths players expect Johnston to follow in the footsteps of former teammate Adam Doueihi and revive his career at another club after the winger was told to look elsewhere after this season due to salary cap restrictions.

Disappointed Rabbitohs players woke to the surprise news in The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday morning that Johnston is officially on the lookout for a new NRL team.

The La Perouse junior is shattered with the club’s decision but understanding that modern-day rugby league is a business.

Rabbitohs hooker Damien Cook believes Johnston can excel at fullback in another team like Doueihi has since joining the Wests Tigers from Souths this season.

Johnston previously played in the No. 1 jumper at Souths but was shifted to the wing following Latrell Mitchell’s arrival this season.

“If Alex wants to be a fullback then he has just got to put his mind to it and work hard,” Cook said.

“Like we’ve seen with Adam, he has gone over to the Tigers and is playing well there.

“He probably didn’t think he was a fullback until we played him there last year, and now he is doing a great job for the Tigers.

“There is no doubt that AJ can do that as well.”

Tru Saint Post - Alex Johnson was offered to the Dragons but they are looking in another direction ?

Undoubtedly every direction but the right one , perhaps they have decided to go for the journeymen Johnny King or Ken Irvine ?

Knowing this club they will probably offer Pereira and Ravalawa lifetime contracts instead of chase a winger who can actually outrun the opposition.......

We definitely need a high class winger Alex Johnston would be a quality signing, Corey Oates is seemingly on the outs at the Broncos I'd take him to. Addo-Carr & Gagai would also be good to however the likelihood of any of these guys signing with us is similar to that of me going on a date with Anna Kendrick.

Agree- but there might be a faint hope- Oates wants to play second row but Brisbane see him as a winger- we have a vacancy for a running second rower and he's certainly a big, damaging runner.

Maybe they don't want AJ because he knocked them back previously and I they just don't want to waste their time

Geez BLM how quickly we forget. Graham Bradley was a marist bros Kogarah boy who couldn't proceed past president cup/3rd grade with saints so he moved to Penrith and played 1st grade for them then moved back to the dragons. Tough stoic centre who really made the most of his talents.Great team man we could do with now.
