Mid field defence is yesterday’s news. It’s all about clutch moments in dangers zones, it’s about not slowing down play. It’s about the whole line being under threat at almost all time’s.

Clearys pass wasn’t on in the gf, the idea was ok, looking to spread the ball quickly, but a lot of these NSW players are slow slow slow. Boyd Cordner in 2020?! Kiks would run around him 3 times before he straightened up and got smashed as per usual!

He isn't but he is captain and in a club side that finished 4th after being back to back premiers. So while I don't rate him it is hard to fault any selection

To be honest, In my view, it’s about getting the side that is going to win and if you stack a side with many players that have been successful together, there’s certain understandings and common knowledge that they share.

There’s probably less risk of a personality clash as the social order is more settled.

For the panthers this is more so, because there is a proven track record that they can combine well, because they’ve done it repeatedly, again and again. They know how each other can play, they know what each of them is capable of and then you get the instinct factor. There’s also trust.

I’m not really factoring in Queensland although in my view, they have the better coach. The bloke who killed a handy Roosters side because he can usually prepare a team (!)I hope he keeps coaching. I don’t care where.

If the roosters had won all those games, I would say the same the thing.

If nsw lose, we will have to resort to stacking Panthers. If Teddy fluffs things ( which he can do) you might want Dylan in this scenario. For the reasons above, not just stats and gongs etc.

That’s my submission. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me that’s all.

Plus the whole Freddy show with his Lamas and getting nutrients from tarmac gravel via the big toe or whatever is getting a bit lame.
