We definitely need a first grade prop now, maybe a centre and back up half. I understand some criticism of specific issues but it's hardly doom and gloom.

All good. I’m disappointed. You aren’t. We didn’t have the money to keep players so I’m not sure what money we have to bring players in, but I’m sure there are low cost journeyman on the market. Our brains trust will be all over it, they have to be given they haven’t been able to retain what we already had.

Obviously I don’t want this to happen but even if we lose Critta and leniu it will mean we refused to duck up our cap. We will be left with plenty of talented players in our squad and a nice chunk of salary cap to spend. You can almost bank on us being able to replace one of them with a young potential star from our lower grades if not both. Losing them both would be devastating but we’d still be in pretty good shape if that did happen.

There was no problem when we extended Martin who at this point will only miss rep footy if he is incredibly unlucky or Staines or could be anything but two guys who are no doubt great talents in particular Burton but realistically further away from starting leave and suddenly there’s a problem.

100% we should be so proud of our retention. I realise how mistaken I have been Tamou, Jed, Ellis, both Blores, Aekins, Jack, Laurie and today Burton. Sorry I may have missed someone. Doubts around Mansour, Crichton and Lenui. But no all is good, you’ve convinced me, we’ve done a great job. I’m comfortable now putting the big bucks on us to win the GF in 2021. How could I be so wrong, but it is just my opinion I guess.

Blore, Jed and Ellis were gone mid way through last year... Maybe you missed us winning the minor premiership without them.

Burton, Laurie, Mansour and co are here for 2021. 2022 is another story and another discussion.

You were saying we couldn’t improve this time last year now you wanna act like you know how to run the team, we’d still be waiting for Katoa and Egan to kick on if it were up to you. Tell us what the management should be doing differently?

Just re-sign key players before they go on the open market. That’s not a huge ask. Gould was more than capable of such basics even if some didn’t work out for the best.

Maybe when they sacked Gus he took his salary cap whiteboard with him because seriously we are in a mess and there is no positive spin you can put around what is happening even if we retain both Crichton and Lenui.

Sorry disagree completely. We have basically the same team except for Tamou and Mansour.

For me it’s not just losing Burton & Laurie that’s the problem, it’s when you add in the Crichton and Leniu situations that the overall picture of retention this off season isn’t great. Things have not gone smoothly.

We were negotiating with Burton, I don’t know about Laurie. It’s much easier said then done. You can’t force them sign if the want to test the market. The storm lost big Tino, he’s going to be a great player, I guess their management has f**ked up?

I’m entitled to believe our retention sucks and our overall roster for 2021 is much weakened but you and others believe otherwise so all good.

Being he went to the Dogs I hope he doesn't kick on. Can't stand that side. I just don't feel rugby league produces superstars that often these days. Players seem quite generic. The best halves these days are the ones who have good game management and kicking games.
