Seriously what planet have you been on where you wouldnt rate benji marshall to atleast be a back up half behind our two, mate you must be off your head, burtons gone, even if he stays for this year his head won't be in it, if we had benji against the knights in round 3 this year, i dont think we lose that game, in fact i reckon in golden point benji or luai kick it 1st or 2nd go, not draw after 5 attempts

Like another backup half, we only have May and Burton(which i dont rate, yes shoot me, but in 2 years he'll be great, right now we have the gun 17, and burton is not capable of finals football if we are down important spine positions) ivan barely used him even when he was named, i guarantee you if tyrone may was allowed to play in rounds 3,4 against the knights and warriors he'd be 5/8th ahead of burton by a mile, im actually glad he's gone to canterbury, too many fans expectations on a kid who'll take time to mature, better off either in our reserve grade, or 1st grade elsewhere, btw if everyone loves his debut game versus the sharks where he just kicked to corners, that it! Simple stuff, effective but simple, he also dropped the ball several times in the match, and set up one try, surely not the world beater everyone thinks he is, and certainly not ahead of romy

This in particular is pretty harsh. Whether or not you think Benji is FG material now, the guy has been everywhere and done everything in the game. He's experienced, respected and very well spoken. I think he'd be a good influence, particularly on someone like Luai who's game is pretty similar to a young Benjis.

I’d take Burton over Benji as a backup every day of the week tbh I’d much rather keep him for a year than rush to sign benji. Benji has not been effective consistently since he lost his athleticism years ago. He’s never been a good manager imo, even last season he was regularly taking terrible options and his defence is terrible, defensively he can longer compete physically.

Wrong buddy, i feel wherever he ends up (1st grade NRL) he will relish, and you'll regret not getting a year out of his experience, that someone like nathan cleary could learn off, adding more tricks to his bag, and if cam smith could come to our club, that would be the exact same thing for api, kenny or may

I'd be thrilled if we had a player of his quality and experience ready to step in.

Widdop would be a great addition, but he’s a genuine starter, not a backup.

He would be an excellent back up. Half backs are like QBs nowdays. Game managers. Bennis brain explosions are pass him
