Actually, Townsend is a terrific half-back. He's far more consistently influential to his team than Moses has ever been; his best game is on par with Moses' (although a very different style); and the difference between his best and worst game is not as great as Moses'.

Chad is good not terrific.. Also not worth 800k

I haven't seen Chad do what Moses did last week controlling with his kicking game.

I do not understand why people are saying that Marata should go back into the forwards. Next year, sure; but not this year, surely? Are we expecting Waqa Blake to come back a different player? Why on earth would you automatically put him back into first grade? Because he's fast? His defence is outstandingly poor, and his 'attack' is erratic at best. I wouldn't have him anywhere near first grade. I don't care how much he cost or how long his contract is for - just cut our losses and leave him in reserves or try to off-load him.

I think you’ll find the bloke that coaches the team has been pretty adamant that Marata will be back in the forward rotation ASAP so you know, probably counts for something

Townsend’s worst game is abysmal.
Did you see him play against us this year? He was absolutely woeful.

Chad Townsend has won a premiership at number 7. (which is seen in his value for a club like the Cowboys)

Mitchell Moses has not.

Who cares what "Mitch Moses" can do... he can also whinge and carry on a lot.

For me Its you either take the player option and lead us deep into the finals where his value gets re-evaluated next year or you leave now to a lesser side.

Moses needs to do his ROR calcs like Parra have which is reflected in the current contract extension offer they have provided.

I think premierships are a pretty useless metric on their own as to how good of a player you are. It’s a team game. Townsend was literally playing so bad that he was hooked in the second week of the finals when they ended up winning. He also played alongside Maloney who did most of the organising. Shane Perry was a premiership winning halfback in a star studded team but he probably wouldn’t have even made first grade teams at most other sides that season.

The 'big pay day' these long serving players want is generally provided by a move to a weaker club. Unless the player is truly elite you won't see the strong clubs sacrificing cap space just to reward their service. It's a business.

If Nrown really wants to stay he'll get an offer. If he wants to cash in he might have to leave, but that ship may have sailed. Don't forget he's 28 and only played 107 NRL games. His WPYSA18 is only 5.4 ffs

What's his WPYSJP?

Yeah Maloney was a huge influence, plus Barba was insanely good throughout
Plus the experienced Enis at no9. Not a bad spine to be part of when your the weakest link

I agree with this, however having won a premiership proves the player is capable of winning a premiership, in response to the claim that we'll-never-win-a-premiership-with-so-and-so. It's like how having won (e.g. 55%) of games through his career proves a player isn't a liability who will stop you winning most of your games.

Dally M votes: 3 - Maika Sivo, 2 - Oregon Kaufusi, 1 - Bryce Cartwright. Judge: Luke Lewis

Gees we need an overhaul of this stupid system, yes Sivo scored 3 points, but they were finishing off moves not length of the field unique finishes. He wasn’t the best on the field.

For Moses to not poll a point is quite ridiculous

Dont think this is is that bad, Maika was pretty impressive with his carries and made a couple of Lang range runs that led to tries. Agree that Moses could easily have polled but I don’t see a major issue with that result

edit: it’s not in the Ruan sims / billy slater class

I cant argue with those votes, I mean you couldve had those in any order and I wouldve fine with it.

Although I do agree with the Dally M system. Given how ridiculous the judges have been I was a little surprised a Broncos player didnt get 1 point haha.

I didn't rate Moses in our top three either. He rarely is, imo. He doesn't engage the line enough.

Sivo made over 200m, 3 tries and 5 line breaks and probably about 100 tackle breaks can't see why he wouldn't of gotten 3 points.,

He made breaks also. 200mtrs. I thought it was the best game I've seen him play for Parra tbh
