Can anyone in the 'know' tell me what we have for hooking options should Kenny leave?

Not part-timers but actual hooking stocks.
You probably don’t want to hear my suggestion but Tyrone May will certainly be at the forefront even if he would be classified as a part timer. The current NSW Cup dummy halves in Soni Luke and Brendan Hands are highly unlikely candidates So from there you are looking at Flegg and Ball. They have Riley Smith in Ball who is being talked up big time but if he is as good at cricket as they say his is he may well go down that path.

I would like to think we can persuade Mitch Kenny to stay, even allowing for the fact we can’t guarantee him a starting spot. Great back up, never lets us down, can play through the middle, ideal number 14. He has expressed his desire to find a starting spot somewhere and he is good enough so can’t blame him if he moves on.

A few guys in SG Ball/Flegg Hands is in Development squad.

He likely goes Full time and Conor Mason and Ryley Smith take his role.

Best of luck to Capewell, he has earnt his pay while here so I don't see a reason for anyone fair minded to bag him. As for the video who says he had made up his mind one way or another. All he said was he hadn't signed anything and was concentrating on Origin. It's not a stretch that he made a final decision a few days later. He is under no obligation to update the fans throughout the process on his minute to minute thoughts. It was reported that he had signed, he hadn't and he corrected the false report, that is all there is to it.
If you disagree with any of this then get f**ked

Read somewhere on reddit from a user that said reports came from fox as the source that, Capewell apparently wasn't happy at Penrith? Whether that just being in the west and in NSW and him wanting to go back to QLD or was it an actual team culture/coaching issue....

nvm it was just copypasta/shitposting
Not a team issue he was quoted many times saying he loved coming to training the culture was the best he had ever had .But also wanted to head home to Queensland for his family

God no! surely they will get an actual specialist hooker in than rely on May...we need to rely on May to provide no attack in the halves and blistering pace that can't even make a dent chasing Moylan...

I tend to agree with you about Billy Burns, thought he may have been worth persevering with, good size, athletic and run good lines. Maybe he didn’t quite make the most of his limited opportunities, probably felt the pressure of having to perform to lock down a spot in the 17. He is sort of experiencing the same issues at his new club. I think he will come good and have a decent NRL career.

Burns got impatient.

Like Blore and few others.

Tago and Vito Tavega will fill the void along with a few older guys. Like Sorensen type

JFH
Api
Leota
Kikau
Martin
Yeo

is still the best starting pack in the comp.

The production line will keep going

There is plenty of options floating around even if get someone in for 12 months until the young guys are ready

I predict Sorensen to fill the Capewell void.

He's a very good footballer but he's short of a run.

Some people (Rhyno being one) have been unable to access the forum since the new format was introduced. Maybe that is Blade's problem too.
That is the reason why I had to set up a new account. I am unsure why the format was changed?

Kenny is a good solid backup hooker. But I dont think he's starting quality. I think in another system he would look very ordinary

The thing about us is that we don't really need a 'gun' Hooker anymore. Cleary and Luai have both stepped up another notch this year after having excellent seasons last year. We just need someone solid - who is fit, tackles well and delivers above average service. Someone who just does a solid job and doesn't let anyone down. I think Kenny fits the bill. Cleary and Luai are our 'game breakers'.
