You are not. With a real investment there is a business plan or useful real estate, in demand by people with needs other than speculating to get rich.

It's rare and beautiful and natural. Humans valued gold before money was even a thing. It can also be used in semiconductors or some shit.

Well that's a bit of revisionism there because when bitcoin became a topic, it was marketed as being an essential tool in the future of blockchain transactions and international finance will need these tokens or die. Hence the rally of popularity was promoted that the number of bitcoins was finite.

Now blockchain technology moved ahead without needing bitcoin.

The only people who can demand a certain coin be used are authoritarian governments and cybercriminals. All good blokes.

This is the thing. Gold is Lindy. Meanwhile nerds argue over which blockchain implementation is superior. Bitcoin could become the next Myspace or Yahoo, especially with the push for ethical investing. The push will be for coins that warm the planet less quickly than the last one.

They can make it illegal to convert it to their currency. Even without enforcement, making things illegal has a chilling effect, and an illegal asset has less value than if it was legal. Cryptocurrency relies on marketing for value. What happens if you take that away?

When governments get corporations like Google and Apple to ban shit from their app stores the average slob on the street is unable to use it. China and Russia have both forced these companies to ban stuff from their stores. I don't think you realise how much power an authoritarian state has over the internet within its borders. The 'cloud' actually runs on physical hardware with identifiable logical address spaces. It's quite easy for them to block traffic on the devices they control. VPNs, Tor.. all this privacy tech only works where service providers allow it to work.

That doesn't prove hard work isn't required, just that it's not the only thing.

Yep. I've been a labourer, and for me my job stopped mattering about an hour before knock off each day. Now I'm in a physically easy job that I think about and continually prepare for all the time. I even think about future work, short and long term, and what I need to do to be useful when it arrives. It's a different type of hard work. In some ways it's harder.

I think we definitely can't afford the best staff, and we don't have the salary cap advantages that would let us fit the best players into the squad without surrounding them with reserve graders. But we have a good coach and good players. That's why we have a good team that gets good results ffs
