Hook has lost the players for sure. Hook needs to stick to our original starting team we had in game 1 which I think Bird is referring to but with Sullivan, Moose and Burgess in. We need - (1) Sloan in every game, we need (6) Amone in every game, we need (7) Sullivan in every game now that he is back and we need (9) Hunt in every game from now on. Burgess in the 17 and Moose as well. Mbye to stay as the specialist bin player and Bird in the second row. Stick to this team because nothing to lose and will give the spine plenty of time to work their combinations together.

So disappointed with the mistakes we made - just too many. The team just has no cohesion and they are just not working as a team. Hook is not the answer at all and we have him until the end of 2023. I might have to give footy a miss until then.
most likely wont happen DD, maybe mcguire thats all he mentioned

I’d rather watch & follow a team of young speedy blokes getting flogged, but showcasing skills whilst learning…..than see this team of error ridden & ineffective slow motion slugs.
Also piss the entire coaching staff off for 2023!!
I agree put the young blokes back in Sloan Sulivan and Amone at least we would feel as though we are building for the future ...instead of some of our pedestrian flat footed wont support the ball carrier ill disciplined slow motion journeymen

They lack heart , commitment and a true on field leader . A coach who has had considerable experience and success - to a degree with former clubs - should be able to get this team sorted out , but alas even the magic wands of Bellamy , Bennett or Robinson could cure this mob of misfits .
Do you mean couldn't Gareth?

The big question is would these 3 top coaches have any of the players in the team if they were the head coach of the Dragons? I don't think so. Come to think of it, I don't think many or any of the other coaches in the NRL would have a bar of them. Just look closely at the team guys. Are you looking? Really looking? (Sorry fellas I sound like I'm talking to my kids when they were youngsters). What do you see hmmmmmm? I'll leave it all up to you guys. I really don't see much at all that I would go out of my way to sign up sorry to say.

He is just wasting too much valuable time. I won't be rejoicing and the guys in the dressing room won't be singing the victory song for many, many weeks in my opinion. I know he won't bring in the other guys as they have had so little first grade experience and have not had the proper development. He will stick to the experienced players and we get the same losing result. One way or the other we lose.

Hi All agree with all the sentiments.

I have nothing against Zac. He occasionally does something good but is simply an ordinary player. I believe he actually thinks he is a class player. I have been posting how ordinary he is for years. I used to get howled down but rarely now. Gitano has been spot on for years. Funny how he and Blake Lawrie were yukking it up on TV, no respect / discretion for the coach, club and former player ( one who had scored try’s at Billy Slaters strike rate for 4 years in a struggling team). Zac and Blake to be replaced by Matt Feagai and Josh McGuire. Who will have shots at goal I don’t know.
Amone hasn’t shown much in my opinion. Don’t get your hopes up. He looks slow to me. Sloan back in and maybe to 5/8 his best position.
I assume you are referring to Dufty as the former player, must admit am a bit bias when it comes to Duf as used to love watching him play, not just his speed but his 'hands' and passing game something special.

I was surprised when Zac dusted him in the public domain although did answer a few unknowns. Dufty is on a 1 year only contract with the dogs and any unnecessary question marks about his attitude will effect his market value post dogs if they let him go, he didn't do Dufty any favours, Dufty is probably aware of the problem (if one exists) and working hard to remedy.

Zac must not have been home when his mum told him if you cannot say anything good about somebody dont say anything at all ?

I actually took his ribbing of hook positively, to me showed he was comfortable with his relationship with the coach but 1st to admit only a perception.

Firstly the Ben Hunt halfback experiment should be done. For a 1 million plus dollar player per year he is not a game breaker by any stretch like Munster, Papenhuyzen, or Turbo !! Put him in the hooker role where the maroons get more value out of him. I have been patient but even with his long relationship with hook something has to give it’s not working at all in that position. Hunt to hooker Sullivan halfback Armone five eight & Sloan back to fullback. I thought Griffin was experienced surely he can see the Hunt halfback experiment has run it’s course .

Forget the proud history of the club in the meantime, there is nothing to be proud of with this lot. The club has been demeaned over the past 10 years, Griffin is no better than Mary. De Belin is not the player he was, and is close to being over the hill.

So what's that now? 1 win in our last 13? Souths were shit but that's all they needed to be. Walker non existent, Latrell injured- not a problem, they're only playing the Dragons. When do we play the Tigers? Spoon bowl 2022.
At this stage I’d be confident the Tigers would beat us.
We have the better players only on paper, but they have a better coach & a team that plays a far better style of football at speed.

The key to our non success is speed of execution..I think we have the players I just don’t think they have been coached well.. and the bad news here is that this is what the pre season is there for. We lack the below elements in spades which is sad…
Speed of play the ball
Speed of defence moving up
Speed of our attacking executions
Variation of attacking structures
All these are the elements that have beaten us last few weeks.. until such time these facets of our game are rectified we are dead ducks..

Just blame everyone I say. Several of the new guys are trying very hard and doing their best, the older ones like Hunt and McCullough are too slow and look so clumsy and not giving any real direction in attack. Hunt must have lost his tongue during the off season because he is saying nothing on the field as the captain to get the players to fire and blow them up when they make mistakes, although who has a go at him when he makes mistakes which he did a trillion of tonight?
I’ve said that all along - we have zero talk on the field and a captain who is an introvert and needs a 2IC to help him on the field. Originally I thought Simms would be a better captain but he is so error prone and inconsistent - he would struggle to spell NRL at the moment..
