But if both players were in their prime and fighting for the same position today, who do you think Arthur would want wearing the Parramatta No 1 jumper and leading this team?
They played 12 games together in 2018, with Hayne playing only one game at fullback. Gutherson played fullback in six of them. The other fullbacks (when Gutherson and Hayne both played) were Norman and French. Win rates (but small samples so it's more interesting than meaningful):

Nicho Hynes fired a cheeky jibe at the Eels to end his Dally M Medal speech.

He gave his best wishes to the Eels and Panthers ahead of the NRL grand final, as well as NRLW grand finalists Parramatta and Newcastle.
But he then reminded the Eels of the one time they met the Sharks in 2022.

“If Parra win — you didn’t beat us this year,” Hynes said with a booming grin and fist pump.

“So up the Sharkies.”

Hynes’ joke, which jogged memories of the Sharks’ 18-16 win over the Eels in round two, prompted a barrel of laughs and round of applause.
