Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

There goes season 2023. And I had high hopes of coming 16th!!!

NBN news are reporting the Hastings/Klemmer "swap" as a done deal. Not much of a swap when we have to carry Klemmer's contract at $800K and Hastings is on $550K. A more equitable swap, which the Knights have wanted for 2 years would be Brooks.......Hang on if we did that we'd come out in front financially. Can't have that.

Brooks can't play in this team. We've tried him for 8 years and it hasn't worked. He wasn't any good when he had good (or at the very least better) players around him. Hastings isn't a great player but is a general and can organise the team, and motivate the players around him. Brooks can't do any of that.

AD has not set the world on fire and should not get the $600K we currently pay him, let alone the $900K he is reportedly asking for.

I hope our new forward acquisitions can score tries at the rate of Josh Ado-Carr (the Melbourne version not the Bulldogs, or Tigers version) because there's no way the halves will create anything.

Thanks Sheenius.

Membership numbers and crowds will absolutely plummet next year. I don't care what Pascoe has done for the club's finances, it's still an utter shambles.
I have no idea who is supposed to be buying memberships and merch but it’s nobody I know.

To wear the jersey in public these days takes a lot of courage. People feel sorry for you.

People stop and try to help you cross the road, whether you want to cross it or not.

You have to fight them off, it gets annoying.

I reckon the Sheenius thinks that he is the man to finally unlock Brooks' potential.

Brooks might not be so much of an issue now...keep in mind Nathan C wasn't organizing much beyond a midfield pileup ( albeit he was young) until the day Api turned up at the panthers in '20

I saw that Pole re-signed...excellent news! Absolutely solid kid with a lot of potential.

I'm hearing that we are actually trying to sign Bateman as a lock? There are other rumours swirling that we are trying to sign both Klemmer AND Frizzel? No idea if this is true but holy f**k that would change everything:

8. Klemmer
9. Api
10. Joffa
11. Papali'i
12. Frizzel
13. Bateman

14. Stefano
15. Twal
16. Pole
17. (you know sheens will carry a back at 17)

Despite all this, I really can't believe we are releasing Hastings. He is the closest thing to a game manager in well over a decade. I hope that there is more to this and we suddenly hear we've signed both Bateman and George Williams (or something similar) because Brooks/Doeuihi have their strengths but it's not game management

I don't see us getting Frizzel, Klemmer looks like a certainty which I am happy about.

I would be super excited if we get Bateman. I thought he was fantastic in the World Cup final.

I hope we are only releasing Hastings because Bateman is coming.

If father Sheens is doing all of this without consultation, he he’s not reading the room. His new assistant is not advising him or perhaps he also is not reading the room.

Combined, they are both not up to the job, if the think Brooks is the man who could direct the team.

Now I really hate this mob.

Why don’t you believe it? Sheens doesn’t believe in game managing halves, despite the fact he had Stuart and Prince running the show for him, delivering premierships and provid

That’s why he persisted with John Morris in the halves for years before Bomber got the shits and went to play hooker for the Sharkies. It’s why Mat Head never got a look in 2008. It’s why we had a junior kangaroos halfback being shoe horned in a fullback and playing two five-eighths in the halves for the rest of Sheens reign of mediocrity.

Letting a competent game managing half go is the most Tigers thing ever, second only to expecting Sheens to solve everything when he’s never demonstrated that he’s remotely capable of doing that.

I'll bet Cooper Cronk is thankful Sheens was never his club coach then. Based on that history he'd have moved Cronk on as soon as he arrived. It really is a silly philosophy when you consider that quality halfbacks and five eights are not in great availability.
