Why did it already fail when tried before?!
Really?? We are doing this all over again... now, mate sorry there are a shit ton of pages devoted to this and other similar clubs that dissolved pre NRL era...
All i gotta say is they don't have the playing stock to compete with RL heavy states, but they can bear fruit , just like storm has regarding a presence in a niche market... it will also solve the "east coast game problem" apart from that a new time slot opens up, and if successful a decade later will get juniors coming thru at a higher standard, but ut will take a club like norths bears or east tigers playing out of perth to get them competitive asap

I agree that you can't grow congregation preaching to converted, but expansion to non traditional area brings great cost & risk. Ppl here portraying potential expansion in Perth as certain success, but from history we know it can fail & in fact it has

Excuses aside there was expansion to Perth & it failed. Outside of that is just opinion
Lol. By that logic we really shouldn’t have a team on the Gold Coast, a second team in brisbane and let’s not get grotd started on the viability of Sydney given the number of teams that have “failed” there.

it’s almost like you are so dense you cant understand that the environment that led to the demise of the reds no longer exists.
Or youre just trolling. It’s always hard to know with you If it’s stupidity or troll.

Yeah, but a lot of clubs were closed in the "mad scramble for 14 teams" after that split season ended - for various reasons.

The fact that a club was closed does NOT mean it was a failure - in fact, more likely a move out of self-interest, rather than the long term good of the game.

Maybe we should let them back in and then throw them out again 3 seasons later?

Who said that?! Saying team will need a lot of funding & that may not even be enough for team to stick. Ten years in gws recording it's lowest ever crowds.

It only “failed” because things were against it in the first place. The Reds had to pay for opposing teams to come to WA, something other clubs didn’t have to do. In the long run wouldn’t be sustainable, so they were already being screwed from the start.
The failure of Super League was their death bell. They picked the wrong side and, as a result of the merger between SL and ARL, were culled to make way for a Melbourne team which was a far more attractive proposition going forward.

Were Brisbane, Auckland, cowboys paying for flights or just reds?!
Superleague merged with ARL. Nobody has ever determined who was winner..
