Haha in 100 years australian rl has managed to get a top tier club in one new city. Great track record! Now afl, 4 clubs in expansion cities. There’s a sport who looks to growth.
The list of failed super league or top level expansion

Sheffield
Doncaster
Wales (ten times)
London (many times)
Gateshead
Toronto
Paris
Oldham

the last successful top level expansion was cas 100 plus years ago

At least they try.

imagine if super league had the money or name recognition of that of the NRL.

at least there has usually been a direct route for clubs to get into SL, then it’s up to those clubs to be good enough to stay there. Many would argue sport should be decided on the field. You look at some nrl clubs bumping along at the bottom year after year and have to question if they belong on top tier,

at this point there is a lot more chance of London, Toulouse or Sheffield being in SL than Adelaide, wellington, Christchurch or Darwin being in nrl.

So super league is only 30 years behind Australia on travel costs and. A million years behind on sharing the tv deal
Merely pointing out both countries have royally fcked up expansion over the years lol

I can guarantee if there was city the size of perth with the rl jnrs and fanbase and million/govt backers perth has that it would be in SL by now.

England knights don’t count

why hasn’t France developed to a good standard like nz has
Because French kids don’t want to move and play in England. And French men arent generally the size of kiwis/PI’ers.

Imagine if there was only the warriors, and a third of warriors team were from overseas, and no nz players in Oz. how competitive would kiwis be then?

Hahhaa

You know the French smashed the kangaroos in test series in Australia when Australia were strong

English clubs would rather an over the hull Aussie than develop a young French player
